free tickets to Kennedy Space Center

I was very happy to receive an email from Congressman Carney's office today that we got tickets for February like we requested. Mary has been a huge help in getting the tickets. She even emailed me today while she is home recovering from surgery.

I can't say enough nice things about her.

Hooray! Got word on Thursday (exactly 6 months out) from Betty McCollum's office (Minnesota) that our February request was accepted! So exciting!!!

I had originally used an email submission form on her website to enter the request, but after a couple of weeks of no return messages (other than a canned response) I called her DC office. They were very helpful...told me they could help but that it had to wait until 6 months. Then I got the email stating the success and that they would contact me again one month out with the confirmation number!

Looks like they contacted the NASA Headquarters
Office of Legislative & Intergovernmental Affairs for the request. And bottom line, I would encourage you to call the office of your Congress person...I know they have lots of important work to do, but a quick call can't hurt!

Hope this info helps you in your quest for tickets...we are looking forward to this educational experience!!!

Sorry, you didn't get a response. I emailed on Sunday, maybe I should follow up with a hard copy (USPS) letter, too. I'll let you know how I make out. Hope you have/had a great trip!

I contacted my local Congressman (Wisconsin) this week for our late Jan 2014 trip. I received an email reply within a couple days where I was told nothing was available & was given the direct link to where I could purchase KSC tickets.

They typically run about 6 months ahead. When I asked in early September, the first available tickets were in Feb 2014. So, a little planning ahead is necessary.

You would contact the Congressman that represents your county. You can google him if you don't know who he is.

You contact your congressman (or woman ) and ask for tickets to the Kennedy Space Center for a specific date. If they are available (there are a limited number for each day that the congressional members can get).

Be aware that some congressmen/women don't know about this. When I contacted ours, she replied back that she can get tickets for the Kennedy Performing Arts Center. I had to point out to her that she can also get the Kennedy Space Center tickets. It took her about 2 weeks to figure it out and get back to me.

As I said, they are (generally) issuing tickets about 6 months from now, so you need to make the request pretty early.

I seriously doubt that. I am not affiliated with the same political party as my Congressman. I was nice and polite in my email. Although I don't agree with his political views, I can't see being ugly to someone when I am asking for something from them.

That is about the same time I put in my request.
cross fingers. Of course I am in Alabama so it will probably take longer everything does.
