Free theme park parking before activating AP?

So we have annual pass vouchers that we will activate at a ticket booth before entering one of the parks. But of course to get into a park we have to go through the parking toll booth (staying offsite). Will I get AP free parking with the intent to activate my annual pass that day? Or will I have to pay for parking that morning as my annual pass would not yet be activated?

Thank you so much. This is why I love these boards. I'm embarrassed that I asked a question that been asked a million times before. I did try to Google it first but I think I Googled it on Google and not on Disboards. Lesson learned.

We didn’t have to pay and didn’t even have to show them our receipt/confirmation email when we showed up to activate our APs. They trusted my story and waved us through. I must have an honest face.

I have been waved through once just by saying we were on our way to buy APs. This was just before FP+ and pre-reserved ride times. But today, with Magic Band scanners, I don’t think we would have been waved through. Of course, Robo is correct (shocking,lol). It’s no biggie to pay, because you will certainly be refunded if you bring your receipt.

This is great to know, and I did not lol. I will be upgrading my 10 day ticket to an AP, so I assume this means if I take the receipt with me, and present it when I upgrade, I should also be able to get the parking fee refunded.

My point in saying that this is a common question is that we know that the answer is correct because
it has been tested and proven so many times in the past.
