Today, I got a box of Rice Krispies cereal because of what's inside! A free step counter! There's three different ones: one with Mickey, one with Stitch, and one with Chicken Little. On the back it has a little game about the Year of a Million Dreams. I can't wait to take this on our trip and see how many steps I actually take a day! :yay:

AWESOME!!!
My only caution is to not completely rely on it for accurate information on steps. Usually "cheap" pedometers are not known for their accuracy to the point where even subtle body movement can make it think you took a step. But it's a good reminder to keep on walking!

I got the stitch one, but it got accidentally dropped and broke within the first day. I would have been a lot more sad if I liked stitch, but I don't. Hopefully better luck with the next box!!
:upsidedow

Darn. I like rice crispies but I don't think I want to buy a box of them ... and yet ... I WANT the Disney Item! I am sure to get Chicken Little - the last one I would want to get!

Thanks for the info!

We got a stitch pedometer in a box of Froot Loops. It is really cheap though, but it is still cute, definitely not for accuracy.

Make rice krispies treats! Better yet, if you have a Mickey cookie cutter, make Mickey rice krispies treats!
I'm with you, with my luck, I'd get Chicken Little or Stitch.

Well ... I could make them for the office. I'm not really supposed to eat them .... hmmm .... good idea!

Now I would like the Stitch one ... I like Stitch! Of course that means YOU (mking624) will get Stitch and I will still get Chicken Little!

:lmao: If I get Stitch, you can have him.

Now YOU ALSO are assured of getting Chicken Little! :rotfl2:

DH bought me one of these from a sporting goods store, two years ago for Christmas. I couldn't figure out how to set it up and I didn't have the nerve to tell him! :confused3 Anyway, I'm going to dig it out and find somebody who will callibrate it, and pack it for our WDW trip. I'd love to know how far we walk each day. Thanks for the post, it was a great reminder.

I wore mine last trip and we average 4.5 miles per day!! No wonder we were so tired by the time we went back to the hotel!!

:cool1: off to get some cereal!! i want stitch too!!! but will end up with chicken little too!!! lol:rotfl2:

Ha! I did the same thing as OP today. I was looking for the Frosted Flakes & a box of Fruit Loops caught my eye because of the step counter. I bought them only for that reason. DS's will eat them anyway, but . . . .

Be Ye Warned...... pirate:

For fun, I wore one just because of the Mickey and while I sat down in my office and only turned back and forth between computers, I magically took 760-something steps in three hours. These must be Rice Crispy-sized steps, because I never got out of my chair. ;)

I bought a box of Fruit Loops and a box of Apple Jacks just because I have two kids and wanted one for each of them....I got a Mickey one and a Stitch one!!

Hey everyone! Thanks for all the replies! I got the Stitch one...:stitch: ....He's cute and all....but I wanted good ol' Mickey ::MickeyMo! Oh well, I'm going to give this thing a test run before I take it down there to see how accurate it really is ;) .

:lmao: They were magical DISNEY steps ... or maybe Tinkerbell steps! See, just thinking about WDW and wearing a Mickey pedometer is a great exercise!

Now that I have these step counters, I was wondering: has anyone used one on their trip? and how many steps did it say you took at the parks?

Yes we used one on our last trip. Measured out my stride and set the pedometer.

Now remember we are the ultimate comando's (rope drop every morning and close the parks down at night...no afternoon break) and our son was 15, 2 parks is our standard day and we have done 3 on a couple of occsaions.

We averaged just over 17 miles per day!

And I am sure others can top that....good thing they have the dining plan this year to keep us from losing weight again ;)
