free soda onboard!!

Lyn, the ressie credit would be up to your individual AAA office. Also, I don't know if they would take over your ressie since it's already paid, but it never hurts to ask. Good luck.

I have a question, I see that a lot of people have switched their reservations to AAA and received a credit. I have reservations with All Seasons Travel do you think if I switch to AAA my price of the cruise would go up? Our trip is paid in full since we are leaving in August.

Thanks,
Lyn
You'd have to cancel with All Seasons and get a refund for all your money - which can take up to 30-45 days :( Then you'd have to rebook with AAA, and it probably will be more expensive (IMHO) not to mention that 60 days out (about 15 days from now) you'll have to be paid in full ... and you might not have your All Seasons refund yet.

I rebooked a 7-night cruise while onboard and received the $200.00 onboard credit. I haven't transfered the ressie to our AAA yet. If and when I do transfer the ressie to AAA, will I receive the 150.00 onboard credit in addition to the 200.00 onboard credit?

Supposedly yes, you might want to call AAA to verify before you transfer the ressie though.

That's great!! The mugs get annoying!!

Oh no! Don't let anyone tell my husband this. We just got off the Wonder yesterday, and while onboard, I asked him to go get a soda card for my youngest daughter. When he went to buy it, he bought 4 of them...one for each of us...$60!!! I about died. I know that the majority of us never drank enough extra sodas to make up for the cost.

My DH is a diet soda drinker...He really doesn't drink alcohol and if we go to a club/bar and dance, listen to music... I can see him drinking atleast 3 glasses of soda (I'm picturing the little bar glasses with lots of ice)...So the card would still be beneficial to us..We're thinking about bringing our mugs from the Polynesian to use when we're pool side etc....but I don't think we should bring those into the clubs...Yes/No?

I plan on bringing our mugs from the last cruise and heck yeah, fill them with soda before entering the clubs! Why not? I'm bringing it to the bingo games, too!

Does Pinocchio's Pizzeria and Pluto's Dog House count as a bar/lounge or will you be able to get soda free there, too?

I'm guessing you have to get your sodas from the drink station (which are near both of those).

Why not??? We plan to (as well as before going to movies).

Does anyone know if there will be pop/soda machines in Topsiders/Beach Blanket Buffet? That would be very nice!

DIRECTLY FROM DCL: Yes, fountain soda machines will be located in Topsider's/Beach Blanket Buffets, on Castaway Cay at Cookie's BBQ and on Deck 9 at the Beverage Station.

THE ONLY PLACE YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THEM IS AT THE BARS AND LOUNGES AND ROOM SERVICE.

My understanding is that there will be soda offered at Topsiders and Beach Blanket. More liekly than not, the soda offered will come from a fountain rather than cans. Much cheaper to offer fountain drinks versus canned product.

Thanks you invaderzim. AAA received a fax stating that I have the credit also. Now what to use that credit towards! YAY! I have two rooms, that's twice the possibilities.

Just back and they have two soda fountain stations set up with coke products deck 9 aft. They did run out of disney cups and ended using generics on the last day of cruise. We used our own PVC bottles and filled to take to our room or carry around ship. This was a great move on Disney's part as no other cruise line is doing free cokes. As usual free coke at all dining rooms and at Topsiders.

I totally agree about wishing it was Pepsi.

This is a great marketing ploy on Disney's part. They pay literally PENNIES for a fountain soda. Of course, they'll probably raise the price of the cruise to compensate for all those "free drinks" -- and you can bet they'll raise it more than a few pennies! They'll collect the money up front rather than by-the-drink; thus, they'll cut their accounting costs.

The "no bars" also makes sense from a financial standpoint. By having sodas free at the drink station on deck 9, they're encouraging passengers to SERVE THEMSELVES. This will mean shorter lines at the bars for customers who are buying alcoholic drinks. It also means less work for the bartenders; fewer bartenders = fewer employees needed.

I love Disney, but don't think for a minute that they're making this change to make customers happy. It's a brilliant financial move on their part!
