Free Refils at the Poly?

Well, it is not a matter of being embarrassed. Besides the hassle of packing them, I just feel better buying new ones if we want them since I know of the newer policy. There was a great gal who worked in Captain Cooks for years and it would have been fun to remember the good old days with her. But I haven't seen her in a year or two.

We often don't get them anyway these days. If we stay in Hawaii, we don't need them. If we're in Rapa Nui, it is a bit of a walk and we bring special pop for our two younger ones anyway. And now that I can even make tea in the room, we will probably only buy them if a new design comes out. I wonder if that will happen when Captain Cooks is renovated?

But I like your idea of a picture! :sunny:

next time I'm there I'll get a picture with my arm around the drink station CM meanwhile filling up your old pink mug with your drink of choice. I'll post that pic on here faster than someone can say 'length of stay'.
OMG this is hilarious! I was thinking the same thing right before I read your post! I leave next month, and I'll surely post a picture! I know, I'm bad, but please don't hate me! :rotfl:

The pool sign was priceless, with the Shower rule. I saved that photo for future use! Thanks, CM. ;)

For the $12.00 I would just buy new mugs. You can never have too many at home in the cabinet- lol.
I don't see why my family & I should always buy 3 new mugs whenever we go on new trips to Walt Disney World. Besides like I said when we bought our mugs at the time they were good for life & future visits, so that is why we continue to use them & will be using them again on our next 2 visits in August & December. I did some calculating & when u take $11.99 x it by 3 mugs for Mom, Dad & I that comes out to a total of $35.97 for 3 new mugs every time we go to WDW & that does not include Florida sales tax which would make it even more. Let's say for example we are going on a 2 night / 3 day vacation to WDW we would spend all that money for 3 new mugs on a short trip to WDW, I don't think so. Since my family & I are staying at the Contemporary for they charge for a room in the Tower I don't think they would care if we use old mugs, besides I don't think WDW losses any money when their guests use old mugs. If there is any problems with refils at the Food & Fun Center & all other counter service places, it's when people use the paper cups because I don't they are allowed to get refils with them, but if they do it & get away with it I don't care.

I am also going to refer to what I said in my last reply about this topic. Why do people who use old mugs bother so much more, then people who use their mugs at other WDW Resorts?

Nobody said you should buy new mugs. Do what you want to do. People are answering the question posted by the OP.

Obviously, people aren't interested in answering your other question which is just trying to stir the pot anyway.

Hey I was going to add that, but I thought no one had cabinets like me- lol.
Glad to see I am not alone.

I don't think they are answering it because they know I am right because there is no sign posted that says old mugs are no longer good. I was thinking tonight & my belief is that someone told someone else that the old mugs are no longer good & it just went from there. The reason I think that is because if it were true then WDW should post that, however because in the past when you bought mugs they were good for life, so then they would look stupid if they said that.

Uhhh....okay....like I said, do what you want to do. No need to keep looking for some big debate about it. Have a great time with your mug.

We stayed at the Poly in 1999. At that time they had a special where you could buy a mug and get free refills on your soft drinks, coffee, tea etc. the whole time you were there. We are planning a trip back to the Poly and amazingly we still have this mug. ( it has Minnie in a hammock and Mickey on a surf board) Does anyone know if I can take it back and continue to get free refills, or if I will be ridiculed for keeping this piece of plastic for the past 7 years! Thanks for the help.

No, you will not be ridiculed. ;)

I'm worried about fitting them all in my cupboard after we get home from our next trip. I already have 3 plus 2 ceramic mugs. I'll probably end up with 3 more after our vacation.

Here, let me try stirring the pot on this one :stir:
How about donating your old mugs to a womens/family/homeless shelter?
They need constant supplies, and would gladly take items like that. It is reducing what you have, reusing, and recycling. This is just my opinion.

I love the idea of reducing, reusing and recycling. :thumbsup2

But donating a mug from WDW might be like rubbing salt in a wound for someone for whom a trip to WDW is but a dream. At least I would worry about that. :sad1:
