could you not make the reservation in your and your daughters name and just not have your daughter show up but your friend come instead? i'm trying to remember but i don't think they ask for all the stateroom keys, only one, so they would probably not even know its another person.
Exactly.Sigh
Sigh
Agreed. And people wonder why perks disappear.Exactly.
Because the restrictions on the Castaway Club website state "Available to Platinum Castaway member and Guests staying in member's stateroom".I don't understand the snarky "sigh." She isn't trying to take your Palo dinner.
The 18 year old doesn't want to go. It would be the same as if she gave her Club bag or lanyard to the friend. Would you have a problem with that too?
It isn't as if DCL is losing a lot of money on what they spend on frequent cruisers (the rewards program has very few "perks").
Agreed, the original post doesn't say whether the friend is in the same room or a different room. But, IMO, the wording "possible for my friend to use her room key and come to palo and get the free dinner" makes it seem that the friend would be using the daughter's room key and using that to identify herself as the daughter (in the same room).i don't see where the opp said that the friend had a separate cabin. i do see where she said the friend would use her key card. maybe i missed something but i assumed the friend was in the same cabin, nothing indicates she's not. if they are all in the same cabin but only mom and daughter are platinum then i don't understand how this is wrong.
we don't use palo, it doesn't interest us so i'm obviously not in the know. i'm missing something.
PrincessShmoo - I must have been typing while you were posting - lol.

okay, so I reread and reread the original thread. what I was reading was 'possible for my friend to use her room key' meaning her friend to use her own room key which indicated to me that the friend was staying in the same stateroom. what everyone else seems to be reading is 'possible for my friend to use her room key' where the 'her' means the daughter and wanting the daughters room key to be used. I see it now but I did not see it when I was answering.Agreed, the original post doesn't say whether the friend is in the same room or a different room. If the friend is, indeed, already booked in the same room with OP, there would be no reason for the question.
It doesn't matter that the daughter (or the friend) isn't platinum, as long as they are in the same room as the platinum member, they are allowed to book the meal perk. As noted it's for "Platinum Castaway member and Guests staying in member's stateroom".
I like to learn things much more than I like to get a 'sigh'. sometimes i get things wrong and its nice when it is explained. sorry to all who have been offended in anyway.
