Free or almost free Barbie at Target with Catalina Coupon

I was at Target on Sunday and got a catalina coupon for $5 off any one barbie with no minimum purchase. I don't have any girls but we needed a donation for Toys for Tots drive being sponsored by our cub scouts pack. Since I'm on unemployment we need to keep things as cheap as possible so I decided to take it to the store to see if I could get a bargain and still donate a decent toy.

Well, they have the basic "glitz" Barbie on sale this week for $4.99. The cashier just had to confirm that I had bought a Barbie. She tried to tell me that because the picture had the fancy Barbie sets that I had to buy one of the giant Barbie sets because that's what was on the picture and I said well, that's not what the coupon says - it's says $5 off ANY Barbie and she hit enter and it went right through. They also have some beachy Barbies on sale for $6.49.

We donated the toy last night.

BTW - On the same catalina was a coupon for $5 off any lego over $19.99.

Nice deal! What were you buying when you got the catalina? With catalinas it's usually something you buy that causes you to get a specific coupon.

I bought an itunes gift card, a nerf sword, milk and a diet coke. I also got a catalina telling me to text to a certain number to get hidden unadvertised toy deals texted to my phone. Not sure what on my list triggered the catalina but probably the sword as it was a small list for me anyway.

Congrats on the nice deal! I've never gotten a good Catalina from Target. Maybe they are getting better.
