My DD9 wants to make a website through many of the free ones offered. I am new to this, but apparently alot of her friends have made them and showcase there photos, interests etc. I would like to help her do one that is private, and cannot be accessed by just anyone. Can anyone recommend one? She wants to add pics of her pets, her hobbies, her fav music going.

Any suggestions or what to avoid:confused:

I would suggest wbkinz.
I would also ask to see her friends sites,
Are they legit ?

she does have webkinz to play, but she wants to post photos etc. I saw one of the sites her friends has but i want to make sure that no one else can view it without a link. I don't want it too freely access. Yes it is legit, but it is free so there are alot of adds on the sides. Any suggestions?

What about Facebook? You can set up the security settings so that only friends that you add can view your profile and pictures, even so strict that people searching can't see you listed.

i don't think a 9yr old can get facebook, but with all the stuff that people send on that, i would prefer her not to be on it.;)

I have a 9 y/o boy who is begging to set up his own website, too. I'll be watching your thread!
A woman I know has a 12 y/o daughter with her own facebook page. I'm thinking in order to do it they would have to have their own e-mail address, too, and I'm not ready for that!
I was thinking facebook would be okay b/c of the security settings they offer, and I could monitor the page to make sure everything is okay, but then there is always the possibility he could change the password on me and then what could I do?
