Free Internet and Laundry for DVC Renters?

No owner is going to tell MS that they are renting points when they make the reservation for the renter ... renting points is against the rules.

You are correct that no owner is going tell MS this, but incorrect as to the reason why. Renting is explicitly allowed---however, it cannot be done "commercially".

As I mentioned, the reason most owners don't identify renters as such is that the value of the rental is higher with the perks than without.

I have a slightly different question about being charged for the internet. We are DVC members and on our upcoming trip we are staying part of the time on our DVC points and part of the time on an RCI trade. Does anyone know if we will have free internet during our entire stay or just during the period of time when we used our DVC points. Our RCI trade was made with a different time share we own.

As noted, you are supposed to be charged. However if you look at all the published rules it says "free for DVC members". No where in the published data do I recall seeing anything that qualified the perk to only DVC members in certain situations. IMO, there is an easy to win argument in this regard but it will be an argument and if used successfully, I'm sure it'll change in the published locations.

Could I take this topic a little further....what kind of internet access do they provide? Are there computers you log into or wi-fi or what? I'm not going to bring my laptop but I have an iphone.

It is not wi-fi, and there are no computers. Many members bring a portable wireless router with them.

I am assuming that the Iphone (don't have one) can't plug in using the ethernet cord so you would need probably need to get one of the routers if you wanted access in the room

It is wired. They provide the ethernet cable. You will receive log on screen stating you the charges, and you'll need to accept them, even though DVC is free. I think you need to enter your room charge info from your key.

Some members bring a wireless travel router and hook that up so you don;t have to be tied to a cable, and you can roam around your room.

ok....I guess I won't get access then because I don't have a router and I'm not lugging my computer.
