When will Disney resorts or even just DVC resorts, as a perk for DVC members, offer free internet access in the rooms for their guests???

It almost unbelievable that you can stay in a budget motel off Disney property costing as low as $34.00 per night and have free in room internet access.

All hampton Inns, Drury Inns, Courtyards, Hilton's, and many more chains ntionwide all offer free internet access...

Disney rooms are far from inexpensive and internet should be a standard feature...not the current $9.95/day

At the very least DVC resorts should offer free internet access to it's members....

That would be a GREAT perk.....

I have found that the Ritz does charge, and Fairfield Inns do not. Is it the more expensive the hotel the more likely the charge? The more expensive the hotel, the more likely you'll have laptop users? The more expensive the hotel, the more you can bury a little ol' extra cost in?

Whatever it is - it works, cuz i always pay.... and i get SO aggravated!!!

Also, in general, I have found the free internet access to be very poor service as compared with the access I pay for. While having free access would be a nice perk, I am frankly content to pay 9.95 per day for high quality, high speed access that is reliable. I would rather have this than my dues increasing to pay for a universal access system, I think.

I've mentioned this before and been flame-sprayed, but eventually "free" internet access will be as expected as "free" cable television. If anything, DVC will probably lag the rest of the Disney property in instituting this service.
FWIW, the "upper level" hotel chains that do charge access fees cater very much to the business traveller, who can expense those kinds of charges.

I've recently been charged for internet access at Fairfield Inn (Vermont) and Clarion hotels (Massachusetts).

This question came up at last year's OKW annual meeting, so DVC management knows members are wondering.
