Free Food?!

Hi, Folks...

I noticed in some posts there was discussion about free dining during a week in mid-August. We are going for our first trip August 12-19, and I was curious exactly what was going on as far as free grub.

I'm a 260-pound ex-professional wrestler, so I don't miss a lot of meals! :) The thought of free food gets me so excited, I might go into seizure!

Could someone tell me more?

Thanks!

It may be to late for you I believe you needed to book free dining by 6-24.
:confused3

Thanks, Beth...

Yup, looks like I'm a bit late... That's okay, I might be losing a lot of my meals after what I've seen of some of the rides anyway. :)

Thanks for the link, Justin. - Props to your Google prowess.

Free Dining was a promotion offered by Disney where you booked a Magic Your Way package and got the Dining for free. It was good from mid-August through Sept. 30th, but as the AP said, it had to be booked by the end of June, so it's too late now. However, you can still get the Dining package, you just have to pay for it. It's a good deal for anyone who doesn't miss a meal! :goodvibes You could get more info on cost by simply calling Disney directly (1-407-W-DISNEY) or checking out their web site www.disneyworld.com, or Dreams Unlimited Travel It's a great way to eat your way around the World!! (we got on it for our Sept. trip and I can't wait!)

Yes you had to book by June 25th. My advice is to book ADRs (Advanced dinning reservations) ASAP, because of all the free dinnng people traveling and sucking up all the good seating times at the more popular restaurants.

THis is Disney's second time has offerred this deal for this fall season (2005 and 2006) keep a look out for 2007. If you stay posted to these boards, trust me you'll be one of the first people in the world to know the next offer.

Thanks, Lego and ThreeRivers. (I'm a huge Pittsburgh Pirates' fan, by the way.) That's good advice. As soon as my wife gets home, we'll get together and try to make some dining reservations.

We had booked a breakfast with the characters for my son, but neglected to get reservations for other meals. I'm glad you folks pointed this out. :thumbsup2

Did you get the Disney Dinning Plan?

If you love to eat at Disney, it might be worth it.

for details.

I see you only have 20 more days till you leave so here is a list some great Disney related websites:

http://www.allearsnet.com/ (great starting point for people new to WDW)

http://www.touringplans.com/tp2/UG2_index.php?PageID=0

(A web site for great web site for planning specifics, like which day to go to which park, and for detailed plan for touring the parks with mininal waits in line) web site to the book "Unofficial Guide to WDW"

http://pages.prodigy.net/stevesoares/

(Great web site for seeing the actual event and show times for each park)

I'm going to check into the dining plan more - definitely.

Wow! Thanks for the links. allears.net I had found, but I'd never seen those other three.

Thanks a lot! :bounce:
