Free Dinning Promotion Changing Resorts

If it helps anyone, I'll be cancelling a 10 night ressie at Pop from 9/15-9/25 that was booked with the free dining offer. We had already booked with the bounceback offer 9/05-9/15 but were thinking of changing dates and couldn't move the bb offer so booked an entire new ressie. Since those are "free dining" rooms, I hope they will go back into inventory as such. I'll be doing this on July 21st since my bb offer ressie needs to be paid by July 22nd. ( I'm still waiting to see if I can move the free dining offer ressie and add one night as the bb offer is only good for 10 nights, the free dining offer is good for up to 14 nights). I'd figure there will still be other guests cancelling as we are just now getting to the cx period for the earlier arrival dates . Keep checking!---Kathy

I have the ASMusic booked for 9/22-9/30 right now with free dining. I am going to call tonight to try for a Moderate! I hope I have good luck since it seems like this isn't as easy to do as I origionally thought!!

I hope you have better luck than I've had. I've called every day for weeks and cannot switch to a moderate with Free Dining. I even tried booking a moderate using the ZJZ code and paying for the dining - again no luck.

I think it's going to be Pop for us. I'm trying to give Disney more money, but they won't take it.

We originally booked Pop 9/22-9/30. We wanted to add the 21. I tried several times with no success (before the free dining expired). I was messing around on line with reservations one night and realized if I added a day to the beginning and the end of our trip there was availability. I booked a new ressie for 9/21-10/1. Called later and cancelled 10/1. Just a little creative manouvering to get the dates we wanted. Maybe something like this will work for all of you trying to change resorts. Try different dates.

Hi everybody. Just a reminder that for guests scheduled to arrive on Aug. 26th, their vacation must be paid in full by next Thursday (July 12th). I'm sure that there will be some folks who booked the trip when the Free Dining offer came available and held their reservations with the $200. That gave them time to figure out if they can actually go or not and still get back their $$ as long as they cancel before the 45 day before arrival window closes. I imagine there will be at least a few cancellations so you guys may be in luck to switch your resorts as of Fri. I believe they go back into the system after midnight, so call 1st thing in the morning to see.

Oh yes, I have this on my calendar. You know some people will cancel their Free Dining reservations before their final payments are due. I'm holding on to some hope. However, when I mentioned this to a CM on the phone, she said the canceled rooms wouldn't necessarily be available for Free Dining. Oh well, it can't hurt to try.

Ohmigosh! On a whim I just called CRO to see if I could switch my ASSports free dining ressie to Music or Pop. I've called probably 3 or 4 times before and couldn't get anyone to go further than the "quick check" and "no, there's nothing available". This time, the CM was wonderful and really spent some time looking for me. She put me on hold, them came and said she had Guest Services on the other line saying they could switch me to POP! I'm actually on hold right now waiting for GS to pick up my line. I am so excited because this is a "grown-ups only" trip and we plan to spend a good deal of time relaxing at the resort. Sports is just not our cup of tea, but it was all that was available at the time of booking.

You're so lucky! I called once yesterday, but at the time there weren't any values available for my dates.

I would be really careful about moving around resorts with the free dining plan. I can see how easy it would be to lose the free dining without even realizing it until your paperwork comes in right before you leave. I have realized people will tell you anything when you are on the other end of the telephone and to try and get it fixed later is way to much trouble. This is just my opinion but I would be careful about that.

I'm trying to change my ressie from a mod to a value....CSR to Pop or Music. My dates are 9/8-9/17.
