Hiya,

Random q, probably.

DD9, DH and myself are booked to go to CSR 12th August, to the 26th August.

As the free dining has just been announced to start on the 28th, does that mean it will be quieter over there?

(this is the third time we've gone at this time of year and have no problems with the crowds in general, was just wondering)

Also, as a side note - if I do online check in, can I request where I would like my room? Do you just say a section, i.e. cabana's or do you say a building number also?

Thank you

Most US schools go back in the middle of August so the last 10 days or so get a bit quieter. You cannot request a building number at OLCI.

They offer free dining at the quietest times so I wouldn't expect the time you are there to be that quiet.

You can request sections at OLCI and other more general things up to 2.

you can also call your reservation office (US or UK depending who you booked through) and ask that a request be put on your file. That way you can be more specific that with the general choices offered at OLCI

but remember that those are requests and are never guaranteed.

Some buildings or sections are "guaranteed" at time of booking, but require a specific booking category (often means $$$)
for example at POR, Royal Guest Rooms are in 2 buildings at Magnolia, preferred are at 4 buildings in Aligator Bayou.
At CBR preferred are in 2 villages, and pirates are at trinidad south

and so on.

no it will be busy as kids in the northeast are still on summer vacation

From August 23rd the historical crowd data definitely has the parks quietening down I go most Augusts and have researched this lots of times. It's not dead, but it is different to the week before and different again to the first two weeks. Have a look at the Touring Plans data on their website it's very helpful.

We've been at that time before when free dining is on, it was fine, the only difference was dining reservations became hard to get
