Hi guys

Was just browsing and saw that on this site

http://magicalmemorymaker.com/free-dining-2014/

that our December dates are included. We are staying onsite from 9-14. (1 night in POR and 4 nights AKLV) According to this site Free Dining is from Dec 12-23, confirmed on other sites.

There is a minimum stay of 3 nights (does that have to be during the eligible period?) It would be amazing if we could get that as well, and if so, do I just call WDTC?

Unfortunately, this offer is only available to those people who book through the US site. You need to work out whether you would benefit from cancelling your current booking and re-booking through the US WDW site, in order to take advantage of the free dining offer (although I'm guessing that it's unlikely as you will be charged an admin fee/lose your deposit for cancelling this late in the day).

There is no guarantee that the resort(s) you want will be available with the free dining offer either, since there are usually a limited number of rooms released for this offer.

Personally, I don't think free dining is all that - it's certainly not free as you pay rack rate for the room (no discounts) and have to buy at least a 2-day (I think) ticket in order to qualify so if you already have your tickets this would be an additional expense too.

I believe that there's no cancellation charge if you're more than 45 days out. However, I believe that the free dining offer has to be in effect on the date the reservation starts. Unless I missed something, your dates wouldn't qualify.

Yes, you're correct - I totally missed that.

Bah, humbug.

(looks for Scrooge McDuck emoticon)

Thanks for the quick advice though. I am just happy to be going, so anything else would have been the icing on the cake.

Also, keep in mind that for the US free dining package, you have to buy a minimum two day ticket for each person on the package.
This is fine if you're going for 10 or fewer days as you can just buy the US magic your way ticket.

But if you're going for the more typical british length visit of two weeks or more, you'll want to buy one of the disney UK ultimate tickets. But you'll still have to buy the minimum two day ticket that comes with the package (basically as a throw away).

It still can work out as value for money, but it's an additional cost of the US free dining package.
