Free Dining

I NEED it to , or I can't go this summer. But I have my doubts, since things seldom work out for me, price wise.

Does anybody know or think that free dining will start Aug. 16
The bounceback dates for this year's free dining were August 23 - October 6. The free dining pin codes that have come out over the last month or so were for August 16 - October 1. So, my educated guess would be that the Free Dining dates that they should release in April for the general public will be for bookings between August 23 and October 1. That's just my guess though.

I have been "patiently" waiting for some sort of deal to be announced for the end of August, early September. Free dining would be nice, but an extension on the 4/3 deal would be a bigger savings for us.

Free dining is the best discount we can get through Disney. The 4/3 deal would save us about $730.00, whereas the Free Dining Discount saves us almost $1,600.00

Last year didn't the Chase Disney Visa come out with later free dining dates? Like well in to December? That would actually work out better for us...we've already booked a bounceback for September/October but would like to go back for the Christmas party if we could swing free dining again (which saves us more than 4 for 3).

Same scenario here. 13 nights at POP of 40% off saves us $426 plus tax, but free dining saves our family of 2 adults, 1 junior and 1 child over $1700 over those same 13 nights!!!!

I'm predicting the same dates as the bounceback promotion: August 23rd. If it was earlier, there would be some bounceback folks trying to change their dates. We were luck to get the pin, so our dates are August 16th. But it seems our UK friends dining starts the beginning of August, so there isn't a real pattern here. I think the announcement will be April 5 for Visa card holders and April 8 for the GP -- just a guess.

I have the bounceback and as previous post stated I got the FD on 8/23, I really want to start 8/16. I am one who will rebook, so I too am figuring that unless bookings are way off, they won't start is the 16th but will on the 23rd.

We originally had FDP for the 23 we could no longer go on those dates we heard there was PIN code out for the 16Th so I called. The PIN was attached to my name. I would try calling maybe you have one too.

Last September Disney Destinations sent out some emails that offered free dining pin codes for very select dates in October, November and December. The only December dates were December 14 - 20. If you checked in by the 20th you could get the free dining offer through the 31st. These emails were random, not for the general public, and the codes were non-transferrable. About two weeks after that Disney Visa sent out a free dining code for their card holders for the same select dates in December. Those pin codes and Visa code were not part of the regular Fall Dining promotion and there was no general public fd code offered for any of those dates.

Thanks, I think I'll cross my fingers and toes that they do that again this year so we can go in December. We really don't care what the dates were in December....we just wanted to go again in December for the Christmas atmosphere and the Christmas party :) I'll be watching the Disney Visa when we get back from our Sept/Oct vacation using the bounceback free dining.

Yes they did come out with it for into December. We do not have a Disney Visa but we got an email pin for the week of December 14-20th. That is the only way we were able to go again so soon after our last trip. We stayed at Pop and paid 1504.00 2 adults for 10 nights with Park Hopper option. It was too good of a deal to pass up.

Yea, we're a family of 7 (5 kids, 2 of which are over 9) so it really saves us a LOT with free dining. We tried to make it work out last year, after getting back in October but we didn't really prepare and so it wasn't in the budget. This year I'm going to put back some extra money and hopefully it'll work out to where we can go again....if they offer free dining again in December :) If not....well I guess we can just put that money towards 2010's trip.

We are also waiting for FD to be offered at the end of August. We are a family of 4, all over the age of 9, so FD would save us tons of money. Much more than the 4/3 offer. We have never done the DDP before, but if we can get FD, we are willing to try it. Keeping our fingers crossed!

I think you will love it! We did FD for the first time last year for the week going into Labor Day weekend. It was a fantastic trip, and we really enjoyed the food plan. Unfortunately, I was not aware that we could have booked it again for this year with bounceback. If I knew while I was there, I'd be fully planning a trip now instead of waiting and hoping for the FD general public offer.

FWIW, I talked to a CM yesterday. I got a 40% PIN code offer and wanted to check on some prices. I told her what I really wanted was the Free Dining offer, and she said she can't imagine Disney not offering it with all the other discount offers they put out recently. She also said that they've been getting lots of calls with people asking about it and thinks WDW has to offer it because there will be too much uproar if they don't.
