Free Dining

So how often does WDW have free dining and when. Is it usually only at the end of the summer or do they offer more then one?

In the last 3 years it has only occurred starting in mid August lasting until late September.

We just got an e-mail from Disney today with an offer for free dining (for stays most nights 9/28/08-10/11/08, 11/9/08-11/22/08 and 12/14/08-12/20/08 in a standard room). We already had a Christmas trip booked from 12/19 through 1/3 in a townhouse off-property, but have now switched the first 10 nights to on-property with free dining. The difference between the townhouse and our standard room at Sports is only going to cost us $300, but I'm sure we will eat well over $1,000 in those 10 nights.

So...the point of all this great news is...you never know when free dining will be offered to the general public...or you!

I don't have an answer to your question but I LOVE your screen name My hubby and I are dressing as Edward and Bella for Halloween (Pre Breaking Dawn- I don't think I could live up to that kind of expectation!)

Since 2005, Disney has been offering the Free Dining promo for Magic Your way packages with a 3 night minimum and a 14 day maximum (Basic Dining Plan; 1 TS, 1 CS, 1 Snack per person per night) during the last part of August until the end of September, give or take a few days. It has been offered as a bounceback to guest staying in the resorts during the Free dining promo for the last three years. The free dining offer is usually announced during the first week of April. The first couple of days it will only be open to Disney Visa holders and then will open up to the general public. The booking dates for this year for the general public were August 24 through September 20 (but you could book up to 14 days past that date and still receive the FD promo) and you had to book by June 22 to receive the FD offer.

Free Dining has been a brilliant plan on the part of Disney to fill the parks with crowds during what was previously their slowest season, and hurrican season to boot. And then having the bounceback for free food while the free diners are there in the parks, on their Disney high, well I would call that pure marketing genius.

Over the last few days many people have been posting about getting an email from Disney Destinations that have a free dining pin code. These free dining pin codes are random and not for the general public and are non-transferrable. They are not part of the Free Dining promo that gets released to the general public each April.
