Free dining?

Free dining is just the Magic Your Way Package Plus Dining but for free. You get one CS, one TS, and one snack per day. The CS can be used at any CS restaurants in any of the parks and also the food courts in the resorts. The TS is any sit down restaurant in the parks and resorts, also they can be used for Character Dining: Crystal Palace, LTT, stuff like that. Make sure you do your research on the places you would like to eat for TS though because some of them take 2 credits like Cinderellas Royal Table, the dinner shows, also with In-Room dining. The snack is pretty much any item under $4: chips, cookies, drinks, ice cream bars, popcorn, and rice krispie treats, just to name a few. It pretty easy to see what's covered under the DP because on the menu there will be the DDP symbol. The CS consists of one entree, dessert, and non-alcoholic drink. The TS is pretty much the same except it adds an appetizer. (Dessert is not included at Breatkfast) All gratuity is included. It's also cool becuase whatever you don't use by time you check out, the unused credits are still good until midnight of the day of departure.:thumbsup2 I hope this helps. "Free Dining" is a concept that causes mass hysteria amongst all members of the DIS. It causes extreme indecisivenes which can result in DISers holding multiple reservations and ADRs. A terrible neck ache from sitting on hold with WDTC for long period of time is also a side affect.

I am among those who have been lured by the call of free dining. Proceed with caution.

I just received an offer from the Disney credit card I have. They are offering free dining plan with the purchase of a 5 night/6 day package. The package can be reserved anytime from now until June 24th. The offer will be made to the general public APRIL 12th. I guess the credit card holders get a couple days to get their reservations made since there are only a limited number of rooms for this promotion.

The dates for the free dining are August 26-September 22nd.

From the Dining Plan FAQ:
What is "free dining"? Will they offer free dining this year?
During the heart of Hurricane Season, Disney has offered a free dining promotion to help encourage reluctant guests to visit during this normally very quiet time of the year. The free dining promotion requires guests to book a Disney MYW package, paying for the hotel at the rack rate, and in return offers the Dining Plan as a free add-on to the package. For the UK/European residents offer, the free dining promotion had to be booked between August 25 and November 6, 2006. The free dining promotion has also been offered to guests while on-site at WDW if staying at Disney resort hotels during December 2006. The free dining promotion applies for arrivals starting August 5 (for the bounce-back offer) or August 12 (for the UK/European offer), through September 29, 2007.

Word on the street is that there will be a third offering of free dining for this year, this one open to the general public. Disney VISA cardholders have the first chance at the available spots for the promotion, starting on April 9 (Code ZHQ), with the rest of the general public perhaps able to book on April 12. Reservations are limited to those with check-in from August 26 to September 22. There is a three night minimum required; the maximum number of nights for MYW packages is 14. This offer expires on June 24, 2007.
