Hi,
We are thinking of the Concourse Steak house at the Contemporary, but other than that, not sure. We ate there last year on free dining, and it was by far the best value we got!!! What other restaurants are good to try??

thanks, Wendy :thumbsup2

Concourse was our most expensive meal last year.

Coral Reef was our second. Overall, we enjoyed Coral Reef more.

Concourse is not the best steakhouse, I'd say that the best values are:

Le Cellier (good romantic and intimate restaurant)
Cap'n (based on 5 adults in my party our meal there was $300)
Mitsukoshi Teppanaki (3 adults $171)

I guess "best value" depends on what you value :sunny: for us it's the characters and fun- and I don't think people eating at The Concourse want to hear my then 9 month old crying/squealing if he so decides- he's a stubborn one alright-we are always considerate of others and will remove him if he starts to get loud but I would not be able to relax becaue I'd have to "entertain" him into quiteness for the whole meal-

Anyway, for us - we are only going to MK one day and DQ and BB so our choices are limited for T-service

Day 1- BKF -Chef Mickey's ::MickeyMo - Mickey and friends- character
L - Earl ( DTD )
D - Whispering Canyon Cafe

Day 2 - BKF - Main Street Bakery
L - Columbia HH-:sail: :fish:
D - Chrystal Palce - Pooh pooh:-characters

Day 3 - BKF - Pop resort because we are sleeping in and as each of us wakes up- we can go get what we want :teeth:
L - Rainforest - it's not on the free dining plan but the kids love it and I love the lamb pot roast :duck:my kids think it's beef and would be mortified to learn it's lamb so shoosh- no telling :rolleyes1
D - Boma- something new- hope it's family friendly :listen:

hi,

we actually preferred our meal at the concourse steak house over the one at LaCellier....

we love the yaghtsman steakhouse, but that takes 2 coupons each, right?

at the concourse, we got the best shrimp coctail too!! it was awesome!!

does anyone like mama melroses?

Coral Reef and Crystal Palace were both so great I'd love to return, but I haven't decided if I'd rather try some new places instead.

I'm definitely booking the Fantasmic Dinner Package this time, so that I can get the priority seating for the show...I'll probably do Mama Melrose, but maybe H&V instead

Le Cellier is a definite...heard too many raving reviews about it to not give it a try.

I'd love to try either Boma or 'Ohana (or both), but I'm nervous that my DD10 won't care for the ethic foods. I'm thinking about maybe Whispering Canyon instead.

We'll have 15 TS credits, so I'm thinking about doing 3 buffets and 3 sit-downs (sharing two meals between the three of us each time).

The likelihood is that I'll end up with 6 out of the 7 places I mentioned above and the wildcard will come down to either Boma or 'Ohana.

At Boma they have chicken nuggets, mac and cheese and other kid friendly food on the buffet. AT Ohana you can get a children's menu for your kiddos as well.

Boma's prime rib is the best, and at ohana's my dd 12 loved all the food. We didn';t like lecellier though. one taste of the cheese plate and yuck, we were sick. desserts were good though

I've read many places that the cheese plate is disgusting. We're just not used to our cheese tasting stout/bitter in this country.

We really like Mama Melrose's - we've eaten there every trip for the last 3 trips. It is also on our ADR list for this upcoming September! :thumbsup2 I haven't been to Concourse Steakhouse, but I agree that we weren't impressed with Le Cellier with all the hype it gets here. ;) :)

8 nights
Garden Grill, Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fare, Le Cellier, Whispering Canyon, Hoop Dee Doo, 50's Prime Time and Boma.

I know there are too many buffets, but they are all places we can not miss!

Staying 8 nights AKL :cheer2:

Hollywood & Vine Fantasmic Dinner Package
Le Cellier
Bomas (Breakfast)
Garden Grill
O Hana's (Dinner)
Crystal Palace (Dinner)
Bomas (Dinner)
Mickey's Back Yard B-B-Que
:confused3 I know that they are way too many buffets, but all these places are on our character list or just too good food list to miss.

Counter Service list includes Tusker House, Sunshine Season Food Fair, The Mara, Cosmic Rays, Earl of Sandwich, Beaches & Cream

staying 7 nights at the Contemporary

Hollywood & Vine (Fantasmic Package)
'Ohanas (Dinner)
Crystal Palace (Dinner) - 2X my family really loves this one!
Chef Mickey's (Dinner)
Whispering Canyon (Dinner)
Liberty Tree Tavern (Dinner)

We have never done Chef Mickey's for dinner or Liberty Tree Tavern - the rest are old favorites!

50's Primetime, Park Faire 1900, Le Cellier, San Angel Inn (maybe), Kona, and ??

We'll be there for 6 nights/ 7 days so we don't have a lot of coupons to work with. We decided on:

Jiko (2 coupons)
CG (2 coupons)
LTT for lunch
Coral Reef

That uses up all of our TS coupons so we will just use CS the other nights. Tusker House, Tangerine Cafe, and Pecos Bills will be a definite.

We had free dining last year and we ate at Brown Derby, 50's PT, Ohana, Le Cellier, Sci Fi, WCC, Chef Mickeys, and CG. (I missed CG last year because I came down with strep throat- so I am looking forward to it this time!)

I think the best free dining values for us were at CG, Brown Derby, 50's, and WCC.

Thanks to the Free Dining Promo, we get 10 nights!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah Baby!!!!!
This time we are mixing it up a bit and trying some new restaurants. Sadly, we will not be going back to 'ohana or CRT this trip. These have always been a "must do" for us, but after all the changes that have been made, they have lost some of their luster for us.
So far I have booked;

Boma -we love this place!
50's Primetime Cafe
Coral Reef -New for us
Crystal Palace (lunch)-New for us
California Grill
Whispering Canyon Cafe-New for us
1900 Park Fare (Dinner)-Yet another new one
Le Cellier
Chef Mickey's (Breakfast)

When we went last fall, we tried to maximize the Dining Plan by eating mostly dinners at the TS restaurant, but it was just soooo much food to eat later in the evening. We ended up feeling really yucky. Having learned our lesson, I have booked a lot of late lunches or early dinners.

I've eaten at all the restaurants on my "want to try" list. The only ones that I make a point to repeat are Le Cellier and Cape May Clambake. I don't like planning my days around food, but these two are worth the effort.
I have always wanted to do the Hoop Dee Doo dinner show though, but that is quite a chunk for a family of 4. It is totally worth 2 TS per person for me, because it's something that I may not have ever splurged on without the free DDP. :goodvibes

This is my first time doing serious dining. I can't wait. We are going to:

Kona
1900 Park Fare (my 4 year old is a Cinderella fanatic)
Mama Melrose Fantasmic package
Le Cellier Candlelight Processional package
Boma
Narcooses
Coral Reef
Teppanyaki
