Intresting to hear from a travel agent about people booking so last minute. I really haven't thought that's what people are doing. Guess I was wrong. Maybe people are witing to see how much money they have before they book. Rats! That will just encourage Disney to delay promos til closer to the time they are for.

I don't want this to turn into the political debate that started earlier in the thread, but maybe people were waiting to see if they would get a tax refund this year before booking. If they now know they are getting back X amount of dollars, they know they can pay for a Disney trip.

Yep! I'm sure people do that every year. This year may be more so because of the economy.

Never thought about that for this year but I totally agree...With the economy the way that it is I bet you are right. We always use our tax return for 1 big vacation(alternating between Disney and a Beach vacation...This year Disney!!!) I just wish Disney would start releasing some fall promos

I know that we're going back to Disney every year whether or not we get any discounts. Disney must know this too 'cause I've never gotten one of those ever ellusive pins codes. I pay as much on our vacation as I can with my ebay sells and then pay off the balance with our tax refund. I know that's the same thing a lot of my Dis friends do. I just think that a lot of folks may not have known what kind of return they were going to get this year; therefore, they're waiting until the last minute to see (and to book).

Got an e-mail from mousesavers.com today. There is a hotel with complimentary breakfast buffet, and a disney gift card for $84 per night. (have to look into the details).

I only stayed off property back before Disney had so many resort options to choose from and there were only 2 parks and DD was nothing compared to what it is today, but that offer in Mousesavers caught my eye too. I think if all one can afford is to stay "value" resorts, or if FD is the make or break deal for someones WDW vacation this year that offer sounds Great. Disney loyalty only goes as deep as a person's pocketbook allows.

What hotel? Typically we drive, and if we come in late night, I would stay off property for the night and then move in early morning. I've stayed at a 'free breakfast buffet' hotel.

Lines over 50 people long to get in, and over an hour wait, for a $5 meal - no thank you.

Don't get your hopes up - Chances are they had PINs attached to their households and hence got the offer.

You may call and find out, but it's a long shot.

* Fall offer - 4/3 including dining

Disney needs to attract folks for long vacations to lure them away from US/IoA. FD alone is not enough - folks would stay one/two days off site. % off is even worse.

Me too! We will be checking in on 5/27 and departing on 6/5. I'd love to have free qsd and pay the difference to upgrade to the regular dining plan. Even paying the difference to upgrade would save us almost $250.00 over the promo I have now.

Im arriving the same day and coming home the 4th
