Ok so I called 407-939-6244 and pressed "0" four times. I said that I believe that I have a pincode attached to my name. And... I did. Then I asked to check my brother's too... he did and then they said my dad did too. We are all reserved at Wilderness Lodge and POFQ (holding both at the moment) with regular DP (TS/QS/S) for all 13 of us. She said that each pincode was good for 3 rooms on ressie. We have to put 2 rooms on one pincode and 2 rooms on the other. But... we are upgrading to regular DP and it will cost $10 per adult per night and $3 for each child per night. It saved a fortune! Thing is... I didn't have an email or snail mail code just asked the rep if I had one and she said yes. She looked up my email and there it was. Too bad my dad is on his way back from Singapore and I can't give him the great news (as he was footing the bill for the 13 of us!!!).

what are your dates?

Just called to see if we had a PIN attached to any of our names and I had a 20/30/40 attached to mine so I went ahead and booked...he said to just call back when I see they have extended the FD into Dec??? He thought we would see it???? Hoping for it!!!!

I recieved a PIN code today in the mail, but after I got all excited, I realized it was only good until 7/3...talk about a downer! My MIL received one too. Why couldn't it just go on until September???:sad2:

If you would have been a Blue Flame you probably would have gotten the pin you were looking for. Green Wave's get no love at Disney LOL J/K :rotfl2:

Hope you get your pin

I actually just live in Easley, but didn't go to school here...I am a CLEMSON TIGER!
I do hope I get my PIN soon.

Are there any fall code dates yet? Looking to book this summer for Christmas and wanted to know if there are any fall codes.

Really? How cheap?

We will take the train from Raleigh, NC where we live and arrive in Orlando. Our train leaves Sept 30 at 9:15pm and arrives in Orlando at 10:15 the next morning. We leave on Oct 8 at 7:24pm and arrive in Raleigh at 9:30am on Oct 9...for 2 adults and 2 children ages 11 and 8 with AAA discount it is $264.00. It costs us $200 in gas to get to Orlando and back. If we keep our reservation at Universal at the Hard Rock Hotel we have to pay an additional $105 for resort parking, then food there and back. Plus no wear and tear on the car!

That is what I think. They might also feel that by delaying the announcement for a fall deal, whatever it will be, until May, it would be too late for those that went ahead and booked in the summer timeframe to change their plans.

If they released FD now, those that booked in May, June, and July may still have time to change.

This is the most logical explanation I have heard yet. I think you may be right on.

We're currently booked with the 20/30/40 pin right now. I got that pin in an email back in February. Since we're staying at Pop, it's only saving us around $200. But, it's better than nothing!

Wait! Don't throw that PIN code away! I got the same one, and when I called, I told the CM that it was only good thru 7/3, but asked her to check whether it would work (my check-in date is 7/11). She applied the code to my reservation, and it worked! Give it a shot.....it couldn't hurt!

I don't know what one I used from work, just looked up the info on the DW site...hold on..try (407) 939-7675, but tonight I called 407-824-4321 and upgraded to AKL for $270 from CSR. We are so excited!!! Good Luck!!!

Erika

What number are ya'll calling? I think I am going to test my luck:worship:

You have to wonder why Disney doesn't seem worried about late summer/fall crowds planning to go somewhere else:confused3? Even if they weren't sure if they are ofering FD or are secretly planning to offer it later, you think they would have something out now to keep people interested. Like maybe extend the up to 30% through the end of Sept for now and see how booking goes and maybe add free dining later to boost bookings. it makes no sense that there is NOTHING out there after 8/14. People who want to vacation at the end of the summer (like us) may start getting nervous that there's not going to be a GP offer and book other things.

They are worried about both the way I see it.. but right now -- they are worried about the closer dates that they still want to fill rooms for. And they'll probably keep tossing offers into the marketplace til those summer bookings get up where they want them to be.

And then they'll move on to the fall bookings.. as has been suggested many times (including by me in the first post of this thread) I wouldn't expect a F/D offer til late April or early May.

Will I still be checking daily? Yup. But I really don't expect it.

Another MODERATOR stated that the folks on this site are merely a fraction of the people that attend Disney. The 'few' people that are booking now and still hoping to get FD know they can do that. Like the other MODERATOR said, when Disney advertises FD or Discounts the general public goes Hey that sounds like a good deal and books. Very few folks that go to Disney know about this site or any unoffical site. I bet it's less the 3% and that is the high end estimate.

All of that is true - but I still agree with Goofy4Tink that those who book in anticipation of the fall promo are in fact shooting themselves in the foot. Disney DOES release rooms to a promo based on existing bookings ... This is why for the past couple of years, the F/D rooms at Pop Century are ridiculously hard to come by. There are other resorts with that same story.

At the end of the day - I completely agree with Goofy4tink -- if you book at your favorite resort now before the promo - you are reducing the number of rooms potentially to be released on any forthcoming promo. It's simple math.

I did a huge post about this and explaining the math, the logic etc. And add to that it would only take a thousand DIS'ers booking 5 night or greater stays in the month of September to adversely affect the number of rooms available etc.

I get that people want to 'have something booked' .. but it guarantees you NOTHING ... why? Read on..

If you book a reservaton and then a promotional offer comes out, you do not have to cancel your reservation. They simply add/change the offer to your existing reservation.

Sorry, but thats how they make it sound on the phone. But that's not the reality.

Any promo ... has a room inventory associated with it. If you are booked now at rack rate or on another promo (and it has to be one of those because F/D is not yet available for booking) they will have to create a new reservation for you from the 'promo room inventory' vs. whatever room inventory you have now. Depending on how the Cm on the phone goes about the steps necessary for that -- your reservation # may or may not change.

But that doesn't change this fact:

IF there is no room inventory on the promo at your resort of choice ... then you either gotta change your dates, or your resort, or possibly both. Regardless of what reservation you currently hold.

Everyone sing along... I repeat it enough you all know the tune... :)

BOOKING NOW GUARANTEES YOU ABSOLUTELY NOTHING unless you intend to go with or without F/D offers.

I only stayed off property back before Disney had so many resort options to choose from and there were only 2 parks and DD was nothing compared to what it is today, but that offer in Mousesavers caught my eye too. I think if all one can afford is to stay "value" resorts, or if FD is the make or break deal for someones WDW vacation this year that offer sounds Great. Disney loyalty only goes as deep as a person's pocketbook allows.

Right.. Just don't forget to include the cost of a car rental to your trip. Those offsite locations have terrible shuttle service and there is NO service from the airport outside of "Mears" at most of them.. so factor in all the costs.

:)
