Free Dining - Still Confused - Did I Miss An Opportunity?

Read on one thread it was a Disney Visa promotion, elsewhere for rack rates.
I booked WL at rack rate in August, didn't sign up to any dining plans. Is this actually something where you get to eat free? Sounds too good to be true. If true am I too late?

The time for booking free dining has past. Yes it is free, but you had to pay rack rate and book a package

Yes, you are too late. The free dining was a promotion that was offered for a period from late August to September 20. However, it had to be booked by June 22.

Yes you are late. Just be ready if your going again next year look for it in April.

You had to know to ask for it when you booked. Disney doesn't tell you about promotions while you're booking your trip.

Some of the package discounts are better than free dining, especially at deluxe resorts like WL. We saved $290 over what free dining would have saved us using DDK for the Magic Your Way with Dining package. Call Disney travel or your travel agent and see what discount code DCT for the Magic Your Way without Dining gets you. May save you a few bucks... Then again it may not be available on standard view rooms. We used the discount to get a guaranteed courtyard view bunk-bed room for the exact same price as a standard view room, that's a $720 upgrade on the Disney Travel site.

It might not be too late to get a discount on the room. Check mousesavers. I have never paid rack rate for a room.
