Can anyone tell me (date) when the free dining was released for 2007? Was it about the same time of the year as it was in 2006? Can I book a AAA package now without dining, then change the reservation when (or if) the free dining is offered in 2008? Was the free dining offered as a code or did you just call and say I want the free dining plan?
We booked prior to the release of Free Dining in 2006. Then when the deal came out the beginning of April (a few days later this year), we had it added to our package. We also booked through AAA. The only issue I had was that I could not make the change myself but had to wait for the AAA TA to do it, drove me nuts!!! This year I booked it all myself.
The Free Dining Offer was released to Disney Visa holders first and then to the general public. I think it was in April and had to be booked by June 24th for travel between August 26 and September 22.
With regard to booking through AAA, just know that you will not get any discount on the room with Free Dining. The Free Dining promotion has to be booked at hotel rack rates. However, Free Dining is way better than any room discount.
We just returned on Saturday from Pop Century. Four adults ate $800 worth of food in four days. It was fabulous!
We just returned from CSR and free dining, they had an offer while we were staying there for free dining for 2008 but it was only to the guests staying there and you had to book it before you checked out. The dates started on Aug. 30th for 2008, it seems to start later each year I beleive it ends the end of Sept. and I've heard they have already offered it to UK residents as well but it does not include appetizers or gratuities, but still a good deal, they also offered there premium dining at half price which is 3 sit downs a day. We booked the free dining for 3 days (which is the minimum) since we need to be back for school starting, and plan on either booking a few days prior to that with a AAA discount or maybe 3 days at Universal or the beach. I would think at some point they will make it available to the general public. Linda
