Free Dining Questions - Ask 'Em Here!?

I know last year it was 10 days max I heard it may be changed to 14 days max this year. Does anyone know yet? I am really wanting 14 so fingers crossed here.
I don't think we'll know for sure until Disney officially announces. Until then it's all just a rumor. Can you book two 7-day back-to-back reservations? You'll have to purchase a one-park one-day basic ticket for your second reservation, but your free dining savings far outweighs that cost.

Actually, we will be there for 6 nights. We "have" to stay at WL...if not the DH would be very heartbroken and let down. He has always wanted to stay here, and I say that we go for it this time since we'll be able to. So I'm pretty much doing it for him. If it was up to me, we would stay at the BC/YC or one of the mods.
I guess I'm really confused because some people have said that I could just call Disney, and they could modify my existing ressie, and some have said that I would have to cancel and start over again, which is what I would NOT want to do...especially since this is an anniversary trip and all of our ADR's are booked to the T! I guess I'll just have to wait until the official announcement from Disney and go from there.

Ok, so were expecting that you have to book for 5 days and have atleast a one day park pass. So If Im going to book a room for me and my girlfriend, do we BOTH have to buy park passes or can she just buy one and I use my annual pass, and we still get the free dining since someone in our room will be buying park tickets?

If that wont work and we both have to have a ticket, couldn't I just buy a 4 day park pass for her and a 1 day park pass for me and then when we go to the park, just give her my 1 day pass to use on day one and then she uses the other pass for the last 4 days? Then I would just use my annual pass for the whole trip.

I guess the last thing to think about is what is going to be cheaper, free dining for the two of us, or my annual pass discount on the room if they offer one.

All help is appreciated! Thanks! :goodvibes

Your ADRs are connected to your phone number. They have nothing to do with your hotel reservation, so you don't have to worry about that at all. They will remain in place even if you cancel your hotel reservation entirely.

So, it doesn't matter if the minimum stay is 3 or 4 night as you will be staying 6 :). Sometimes Disney can transfer a deposit and sometimes they can't. There is really no rhyme or reason to it so people are simply preparing you for the possibility of coming up with a new $200 deposit.

ETA: WL is a lovely resort and I think you will really enjoy it. I have stayed over on the Villas side a couple of times.

You would book the pkg with one day tickets for both of you. Upon check in you would upgrade her ticket to a 5 day. I would hold your 1 one day ticket for future use such as renewing your AP. The cost to go from a 4 day to a 5 day is just a few dollars. A one day ticket is around $70. The 1 day will not expire if you don't use it. We did this last year during free dining. Everyone on the pkg must book with the same number of days ticket.

Well if you arrive before the dates you will have to have 2 seperate reservations i.e room, tickets and plan

I've merged all the Free Dining questions into this thread. Let's keep all the questions about Free Dining in this thread, make it easy for people to follow and get information.

Do you have to stay at a Value Resort with the Disney Visa rewards? That is what the lady just told me...but she seemed a bit clueless...:)

Disney Visa Rewards? You're using the points from your card for a reward?

Or are you referring to using the Disney Visa 'perk' to get free dining if offered?

Knox

Sorry- just the Visa perk to call on the 9th rather than the 12th... no rewards!

Ok.. then I'm dead sure they'd rather you stay at the more profitable moderate or deluxe rooms.. than the low-margin value rooms.

Rooms will be available at all levels of resorts. Call Monday to find out which ones for what dates.. :)

Knox

Will you be able to book through AAA on the 9th, or through CRO only?

The 9th booking date is for Disney Visa card holders ONLY and probably only thru CRO.

Knox

So,

do you guys think that the email from Visa will come out Monday morning, like daytime morning? or like "midnight" morning?

cuzz ya know, if we all got it at "midnight" sunday night/monday morning, I'd stay up to call CRO!

(I'm makin myself nuts because I am hoping for POFQ, which I am thinking that because it is smaller, they may have fewer or even no FD available rooms).

I'm probably over-thinkin' this thing too much, huh?

CRO isn't open til 7am EST.

:)

Nice idea about stayin up tho.

CRO is not open at midnight. The web site may have the special available, though. I would just wait until 7:00 AM and start calling a few minutes ahead of time like in the old days trying to get Cindy's Breakfast.
