Free Dining Questions - Ask 'Em Here!?

Am I able to transfer a ressie that I made to CAA? I was thinking that I could phone disney direct at 7:00am on Thurdsay and hopefully making free dining ressie's at Pop. I understand that they give you a 24 hr courtesy hold and than I can phone CAA and get the TA to reserve and if she is unable to get the same ressie can I pass on my courtesy number and have them reserve it? I would prefer to book through CAA as it's easier to pay at the office than pay Disney but I don't want to risk them being sold out by the time the TA gets to it.

Call and book yourself at 7am on Thursday. Then sort it out with your CAA agent. If they can't take over the reservation ... or book you something else.. you've got the one you booked yourself.

You can actually make the reservation directly with Disney and they will give you 14 days to make your initial deposit. So if the reservation isn't taken over or payment for the initial deposit received in 14 days, the reservation will cancel.

My suggestion?

You make the first reservation in your name.

Then. Make a second reservation in the second families name. Then they can call and deal with their own reservation after the initial booking.

Just a recommendation, check with your employer to see if they have any programs that allow for discounting of your vacation.

My company has a discount program for 5% off of vacation packages through a vacation planning company, this is a discount provided by the vacation planning company not Disney. The bonus of this is my travel agent matches the rates that this vacation planning has, so right now, I have 5% off the Disney rate. After the free dining goes through, I plan to go back, get the rate from the planning company which will be basically the same rate previously quoted minus Disney Dining Plan and then fax that to my travel agent who will change my reservation and adjust the price to match.

I hear that free DDP will be offered to the general public for the dates of Aug 26 to Sept 22, this Thursday the 12th.

I was planning our trip for Sept 23 to the 29th. If the discount is offered for us General Public Folks, will I need to change all my dates or can I just start my vacation on September 22 and it carries over?

My reservations are for 9/29-10/6. After crunching all the numbers and possible discounts I'm going to change that to 9/22-9/30 to take advantage of free dining. We're staying at the WL. I'm a Visa cardholder. Would you go ahead and change the reservations tonight and then call for free dining in the morning or should I do it all in the morning? My head hurts from all the "what ifs" going around in my brain!!! TIA!

Call in the morning - you may find that WL has very limited or in fact.. no free dining packages.. so you should definitely CHECK before changing your dates .. in case you have your heart set on WL.

What they are doing???? DISNEY gave the discount NOT the agent from AAA
The agent is the one who called Disney reservations to ask them to please apply the code !
My agent did not make a mistake......... Blame Disney if it was not allowed
Last year I read others got both discounts. Guess a lot of mistakes were made!

Don't get angry...My friends had booked their trip last year with AAA and then free DDP came out and that was applied. They did the math also and they know they got both discounts. Maybe some people need to make some calls and find a way to get the deal of the year!
