free dining question?

Hi I have a question regarding Disney's dining. I am booking a deluxe Resort, package with deluxe dining for October 2012. I have read that Disney offers free dining certain times of the year. If after I book they offer free dining when I am going to be at Disney World, will I be able to change to the free dining? Also I know as well as deluxe, they have quick service, regular dining, premium, & platinum. Am I correct in thinking that the free dining will be the regular dining- 1 quick service, 1 table service, 1 snack a day & the refillable mug. Thanks!

Free dining, or any other package discount, may be applied to an existing reservation if there are still discounted rooms available at that resort for those dates. This replaces any existing discount, that is, you can't "stack" multiple discounts.

While the offers are always subject to change, recently, free dining has been the basic DDP (1 TS, 1 CS, 1 snack per person per night) at moderate resorts and higher, with QSDP (2 CS, 1 snack in 2012) at a value resort. You may upgrade free QSDP to DDP or DxDP or free DDP to DxDP for the price difference between the plans.
