Free dining question

I, my DH and DAunt are checking into ASMu on Sept. 20 with free dining. I learned TODAY that DAunt has just moved up her retirement date from Dec. 31 to the end of this month! That means we could potentially extend our reservation by 4 days.

Here's the problem. I don't know if I extend the reservation at this point if I can continue to have free dining for those four extra days since the free dining deadline passed two weeks ago.

Can I extend an existing reservation with free dining?

Why don't you call and ask? It is irrelevant what people on this board think. It won't make WDW extend your reservation because we think so.

I would call and be very, very nice... If you get a "no", then tell them why you want the extension, explain how grateful you would be, etc, etc. Occasionally this approach will get you the result that everyone thinks cannot be made to happen.

I tried adding a day to the beginning and end of my stay with free dining, but I was unable to because they said there were no more free dining rooms available. So, instead I booked 2- 1 night only stays withouth the free dining. I was however able to use the new code that came out for one of those nights and save myself some money... It doesn't hurt to call and ask! You might get lucky! Good luck!

FREE DDP offer ended 6/22 so I doubt it is any longer available but worth a call to see!!

I called and asked Disney this same question. I was wanting to add a day or 2 onto my existing POP reservation for free dining. I was told that yes I could and still keep the free dining on the entire stay, but only if there was availability. For us, there was not :( But she did say to try back at the point where my final payment was due because if anyone would be canceling then that would probably be when they did and availability might open up.

Yea but if you already have free DDP you may be able to extend it. Disney wouldn't mind you being there for a longer time spending money on park tickets and additional room nights at the resort. It's always worth a call and even if you get a no try several more times, you always get different answers from the CM's.:cool1: :hippie:

Yes, I think you'll be able to. I booked the bounceback free dining when we were there last Sept, for 8/30-9/3. Then when the MNSSHP dates were released and I found out the first one was on 9/5, I told my husband I wanted to extend for a couple of days so we could go. This was before the new public free dining promotion was announced. I called CRO and they extended me, no problem, with the free dining, through 9/6.

When you call, if the first CM can't help you, ask for Guest Services. They often can do things that the regular CMs can't.

It worked!

I have now extended my existing reservation by 1 day and was able to keep free dining on all my pre-existing days, plus get it for the new one.

I then immediately called Disney Dining and asked for anything for lunch in Epcot on my extra day. I was able to get Biergarten at 12:10 p.m! :woohoo:
