free dining question

Gosh, sorry everyone you sure can tell I am new at this. I posted the same question under podcast because that is where I heard about this and than under 2008 dining but can not find my question. So here I go again.
Can anyone tell me , I am already booked for Sept with the dining plan. If they offer Free Dining will I get it? Do I have to do anything? I am a Disney Visa cardholder. Will they take it off my balance? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Call the minute you hear about free dinning and tell them you want to get the free offer added to you ressie.
Make sure you don't cancell anything until you have the new ressie in place. You could end up losing the resort you really want by doing that.
The CM will either apply the new promtion to your current ressie or do the new ressie and then cancel your old one.
Is really depends on the CM you speak too. Everyone says different things on that subject just be sure to call the minute they release the promtion and good luck , oh and welcome.

Last year we were booked at POP with DDP OOP, when the free DDP offer came out we had to rebook and had to switch to ASMU they said POP was all filled up for free dining. We took ASMU but called back a few times over the next week or so and eventually there was an opening at POP. A little hastle but we did ASMU the year before and wanted to try POP. But I also heard they may just add free DDP with no switch of resort , so good luck and get those ADR's made.
Since we signed up last year for the bounce back we got POP then (like it doin POP again) last week in Sept.

They would have to rebook your reservation with the free dining code. As was posted, do not cancel your original reservation until you check for availability with the free dining code. It's possible the free dining promotion may be sold out for the resort of your choice and you'd have to switch resorts.

How many meals/snacks are provided in yrs past ?
Is it 1 sit down , 1 counter & 1 snack or is it
3 big meals ?

Am I correct the news may leak within the next few days ?

I respectfully disagree. Call the minute your free dining eligibility opens - i.e. no point in calling today, even though we've heard about it already, since you will not be able to make the reservation until Monday at 7 AM Eastern.
