I may choose to go to the Brown Derby on my last night. this restaraunt requires two meal credits. We will have 1 credit left each ( 3adult and 1 child) I called Disney to ask if I would use my credits and pay the difference. the response was "we think" you will use 2 of the adult credits to pay for one meal, this leaves one adult and 1 child credit left, you will use these and pay the difference. But no one knows what the difference is, an adult credit is worth $35.oo per Disney. If my order (meal, tax, tip) comes to $40.00 do I pay the $5.00 difference or $35.00 the value of one credit. No one was really sure, perhaps someone on the board has experienced this and can advise. thanks

I'm only guessing at this but...see if this makes sense.

There are four in your party: 3 adult, 1 child. Each requires 2 credits at the restaurant.

If, on the last night, you have 4 credits but need 8 total, I would think that two of the meals would be 'paid for' under the plan (the four credits) and two meals you'd have to pay for.

My understanding is that the credits go on your 'account' without distinction between adult and child, and that the restriction is that children between the ages of 3-9 MUST order off of the children's menu. I've seen on the boards where people are paying out-of-pocket for their children and using the extra credits to cover a 2-credit meal.

Anyone think any different?

nope, you've got it right... the remaining four credits will go towards whichever two meals the diner designates (imo it would be a no-brainer to put it toward two adult meals) and the balance of the meals would be billed the regular way (pay w/cash, disney dollars, disney rewards, credit card or traveller's check)...

I thought the Brown Derby was only one credit each, not two. Can someone confirm?

I just double checked because we had reservations at the Brown Derby for our first night in. It is 2 credits to eat there. I just called and looked at the web site to confirm, 2 table service credits!

I am sorry I don't know the answer to your original question though!

Thanks for brining this up though, I had time to change our reservations!!

Unfortunately I don't know how the difference works. I am in the same boat though bc I want to go to CG but only have enough for one credit each if I go everywhere else I wanted. So we are just gonna use 2 for that night and one other night just pay out of pocket for a meal. For us, we felt it would be less confusing, but I guess it also depends on which would be cheaper.

I ust got the answer, credits are in a pot without regard to child/adult/lunch or diner. It was suggested that I pay for two of the childs lunces and then use those two credits towards my 2 credit need at Brown Derby. I received this infor off the "Frequently asked questions about the dining plan " in this forum. Thanks for all your input.
