I'm sure this has been asked many times, so forgive me but---what is the free dining plan, and how do you get it? Is there a limit to the number of these plans, and what does it include? Thank you for any information...Vicki

The 'free dining plan' is simply the existing Disney Dining Plan (see the sticky at the top of the page, or http://www.wdwinfo.com/MagicYourWaydining.htm, or disneyworld.com.

The free part is a promotion Disney offers for a very limited period each year (well, each year since the plan has existed - 2008 will be the fourth).

You book a Magic Your Way package including onsite room, and park passes, and where ordinarily you could include the DDP for $37.99/A $9.99C, instead, for that four or five weeks, you get it free.

It's been offered to a couple of select groups for next year already - the approximate dates are 8/27 - 9/29 (check a calendar - it'll start on a Sunday and end on a Saturday). This same promotion will most likely be offered to the general public for purchase in April.

This promotion cannot be combined with any other discounts.

Thanks Kay for the reply. Up until the past 5 years, we went to WDW every Sept. for years, before they started that package. We are going to WDW for 6 nights on Nov.26th, and then the 4 night cruise on the Wonder. Would we be eligiable for the free meals if we went back in Sept next year Vicki

Sorry for bumping off your thread, but I had a question about the free dining. When it is offered, what is the minimum amount of days that you have to stay in order to be eligible for it?
Thx

DisneyRN - not during your upcoming stay, although Disney MAY be offering some other 'future stay' promotion while you're there. Look for literature in your room, ask at Lobby Concierge, and/or watch the general information channel on your in-room TV.

It is likely, although by no means certain, that once again (i.e. for the fourth consecutive year) that Disney will offer the Free Dining promo to the general public.

The booking period for this is usually around the beginning of April, and Disney VISA cardholders have been getting a few days' advantage the last couple of years.

The minimum stay is, I think, three nights - despite what any advertising might imply.
