Ok here it is... I am so confused. We got AP for the first time in October of last year and are just waiting for a code to come out for a room ressie. But my question is, with an AP room rate can you add the dining package as well? How does that work... and is it even worth it? Any help will be much appreciated....

One more question...What is the free dining thing that was offered not too long ago? Does that come with package stuff only?

The Free Dining package was a special package that was offered last fall. We haven't heard if they're going to offer it again this year or not.

Unfortunately, you cannot add the Dining package to an AP reservation. The reason is, the packages all include tickets, and obviously you don't need tickets if you have APs. :smooth:

The cheapest way you could do this, is if you buy the Magic Your Way + Dining package, and only get 1-day base park tickets. Then, use your APs to get into the parks the other days.

You also can't get the AP room discount on a package.

Personally, I like the dining plan but would use the AP discount (if it's available when you are traveling) and the AP dining card rather than buy the dining plan package. I don't have an AP, I'm just going by what I have read here on the DIS.
