Wow. I think some of you need to google the definition of the word "rumor" and read it carefully.

The problem is TA's are saying that it was supposed to be offered but was cancelled. So, this rumor had everyone booking banking on FD and Disney saw that the rooms were being booked up and no longer needed to extend FD.

This rumor hurt more then helped. I just took my Xanax so I should be better soon.

Listen Sunset, he might have ruined it for everyone by spreading this rumor. Did you read the rumors on the other boards? People booked like mad hoping for FD and Disney cancelled FD. There was no longer a need for it. So it hurt didn't help. Go for it. I've been called worse.

And you know Joe IRL? People can become anyone online. I could be someone famous for all you know.

It's not his fault that people booked without a discount *expecting that one would come. These guys even say NOT to do that. He didn't ruin it for everyone, most of us understand what a rumor is.

Listen, I bought myself a really nice Gucci bag with the money we were going to save when FD came out - So this offer needs to go live people!!! Lets all sit around in a circle, put Black in the middle, and pray to the Disney Discount Gods that we will sacrifice Black (and Joe, and Mary, and whoever else we feel like) if the offer comes out by tomorrow morning.

Even though things are said with the addition of "things can change at any time", I feel saddened and heartbroken for everyone.

I know the actual "leak" says August 1, and the DV is always an educated guess; however, something in my gut feels that things are a miss. I can tell you that the leaks for this were from the SAME sources as the leaks for September (including the one used by another famed leaker on this board), and there were more sources on top of that who were saying the same things. In fact, there were even graphics produced for this...so it's not like it was a weak rumor of sorts.

Still, while I hope for August 1 to come through as stated, I truely hope that Disney hasn't caught on to the leaks, and threw a curve by delaying a release. I hope even more that Disney hasn't seen increased bookings and cancelled it altogether.

However, if everyone deems it fit run me off the dis, I suppose it's well warranted.

I've always tried to help everyone I possibly can, and would never pass along information that didn't appear solid, founded, and meaningful.

You best not be running anywhere mister. We are all adults & should know better to not base everything on rumors. You do an amazing job!!!

Thank you for all your info. Something does seem strange, especially since TA's had the info. No matter what, we appreciate you!

Sadly, the TAs did NOT have any info (from Disney anyway). We typically don't get anything until hours after the deal has actually been released. Now, there might be some agencies who have people that WILL leak the info to them, but those are few and far between.

You need a chill pill - Joe is the name of the original poster. I see your post count isn't very high. Not sure if you are new to the boards or new to posting but a rumor is just that A RUMOR not written in stone. Or maybe it is time you stepped away until you calm down

We, or at least 95% of us on here, know that you are telling us as much solid information as you can. Unless you work for Disney and are the sole person responsible for making those decisions directly, there would be no way for you to be 100% sure that far in advance what will come out.

Corporations change their minds and often at the last minute and anything could drive that change. A lot of the time announcements are even made internally, then changed the same day. It's part of the corporate world.

Ignore any flamers - I for one really do appreciate it even if it doesn't come through. It gives me a heads up on what and WHEN to look for something.

People, chillax!!! Take responsiblity for your own actions. If you changed your plans, that is your fault. I cannot believe that adults can be so rude. And we wonder why some of our children don't know how to confront people on issues. Joe did his job and put out what he was told. However, he also told people not to make any plans based on a RUMOR. That is exactly what it was a RUMOR. So be mad at yourself. I was excited about fd as well and still hope that something will come out on Aug 1. But if not, oh well. It would be nice to save money. However, my trip was not based upon rumors; but the fact that I want to enjoy time with my family in Disney regardless. LOVE YOU JOE. Keep your head up.

Personally, I love the rumors, and do appreciated being able to come on here to see them. Sucks that the one that I was banking on is having a few "glitches" but still have my fingers crossed that it will come out in the next few days.
Until then, just sit back, relax, take a deep breath, and chill out.

Joe, let me first say how much I appreciate everything you do, and how sorry I am at the crap sent your way this morning. Like almost everyone, I think it undeserved.

Second, like you, I'm a little worried now. Despite all the warnings to not book (because then those dates/resorts might fill and come off the deal) I fear that so many people booked that, on top of the Armed Forces salute for FY14 coming out last week, the capacity for this deal to be released to the US general public may have disappeared...

I worry in particular because I saw a facebook post a bit back from a site with many more pins and facebook friends than common sense, which suggested that if people wanted to lock in the deal, they should book their rooms then...

I think we have enough confirmation that this was real and you were truly correct. Disney pulled the plug at the last minute for whatever reason. It is very courageous for anyone to bring forth this kind of information because there is risk of backlash if things change; many do not for this very reason. Joe, you risk that because helping people is more important to you than the few bad words from naysayers. Thank you for all your help and information, it is incredibly appreciated and an invaluable resource. : )
