Free Dining Oct-Dec Is Here!!

Ok if someone could help a girl out. We are going Nov 17-23 & staying at POP. We have already purchased the QSDP & know that is what is available at value. We will be upgrading to DP. I know that the upgrade is $19 per person per night. So my question is, hoping someone could do the math cause I apparently can't lol, would it be better to stay value & pay difference to upgrade or move resorts to a mod. Not sure which would be the cheaper route. Also there are 3 of us & all adults.

TIA :)

For our trip, I did the math. We are currently booked at POFQ and switching to Pop and upgrading will save us $200. Im excited to try a moderate, however my daugther LOVES Pop (we do too, honestly)! Sooo.... Im leaving it up to fate! Im hoping there will be rooms with FD at POFQ, but if not, we will switch back to Pop! Either way, we will be happy as could be! :) Have you made a decision yet?

Could you book your own and cancel with you have with her? Ive already touched base with my TA to make sure she is going to be in office monday morning extra early with my stuff first on her to do list! LOL

I was wondering about that also. Anybody have experience with this. Could ADR's be transferred , I made them all myself anyway?

I could be wrong, and Im sure someone will correct me if I am, but I dont think ADRs are tied to a resort reservation. So I dont think you will need to transfer them or change them anyway. For ex, we were booked w FD in Sept, had all adrs made, then had to postpone our trip to Nov. Our TA moved our package reservation, I made new Nov ADR's but held on to the sept ones for about a week just in case. Our Sept package had already been moved to Nov, and I still had to call and cancel the sept Adrs anyway.

. Does anyone know if you can still get free dining if you do military tickets and military room dicount? I have a friend that is going and she is military. Tia! Also what about ro discount can you get that on top of military discount?

You cannot stack discounts. You can do the military room and military tickets and purchase a dining plan, but you cannot get FD unless you pay full price for room and tickets.

This is what I was going to say. You could book with FD on Monday (see how confident I am) :) and keep the reservation until you find out if she can get FD on your existing one. That way you at least have a back up plan. You might even be able to transfer a new reservation over to her afterward. I'm not sure how it works.
I have to say, however, it is her JOB. She should be up early Monday morning looking into it for you.

I was thinking that too....aren't you paying her to do her job and plan your vacation? Part of the planning process is making sure you get what you want. And you want FD. Tell her if she's not willing to work with you, you'll cancel with her and book everything yourself. Thatll affect her paycheck and I can't imagine she wants that....just a suggestion. Sorry...but that really bugs me.

Sorry to bother again.. Still trying to get my head around the RO discount. I know I wont save doing the split stay with free dining but would like to know how much is the RO discount going to be on moderates? We are trying for POR I think and trying to compare the UK prices with the RO sale in the USA.

How much is the discount going to be on moderate rooms for RO ? Thanks! :cool1:

I agree 100%. I cannot believe that TA! Holy cow! I would have fired her right then and there had she said that to me. :sad2:

From what I've read on here, the discounts will range from 25%-30%. Its going to depend on resort category and room type.

That just sounds so unacceptable. I hate to feel like someone else is holding me hostage like that. Being on hold a few times a year is part of the deal if you want to be a TA and a good one will be up at 7am even though their office doesn't open until 9am. If I had a TA like that, it would certainly be the last time I used her. Then again, this is why I've never used one...I like being in control of my own vacation.

I am ALWAYS on the phone first thing on a FD or any kind of discount day. It is actually our company policy. We just don't want our guest to possibly miss out.

Just putting in my 2 cents.

You and me both!

I dont know about all TA's but I know AAA you can move an existing reservation over to them to get their perks. But yes, just like all PP's have said, its her job to be looking out for you! Id call her back and say if she isnt able to call first thing monday, you will find someone who can! She better be offering you some awesome perks, or youre better off firing her and doing your own thing anyway!!:rolleyes1

I can tell you...that for the reservation to be transferred from one agency to another....Disney and agencies frown on this. If you are unsatisfied with your agent, you can talk with the agency and possibly get another agent or you would have to cancel the reservation. IT CAN HAPPEN though, you just need the current agency to agree to transfer the reservation to another agency.

I ordered mine on a Friday and it came tues- but it came in a plain envelope, not a regular chase one- so make sure you don't overlook it!

I too ordered mine Friday and just got it last night, also in a plain white envelope. So don't give up hope yet

I would like to book a FD trip on Monday.

However, I have a work thing Monday morning so I cannot call and be on hold for a long time, but I could sneak online to book it.

Will I be able to book this online on Monday and if so, how will I know what code to use or how to get the DV FD discount?

I'm really hoping to get POFQ for Dec. 21 and staying 14 nights and I know that will be hard, but our back up would be CSR.

So I sat my mom down this morning to show her POFQ and then showed her a bunch of options at POR that we might have to "settle" for if I couldn't get FQ and she totally poopahed FQ and wants to do the Mansions at POR. :rotfl:

I thought she'd prefer the smaller resort and the French Quarter atmosphere but she liked the river and the greenery better at Riverside. She did like AB's buildings and landscaping, but did not like the rooms themselves (I think the beds made out of logs gave her flashbacks to my childhood when all we could afford for vacation was camping). So we will ask for hope for a Royal Room Pool view (for location) or for a Royal standard view or River View or just a category River View and request Magnolia.

She kept telling me whatever I wanted and she was just along for the ride but I totally know better. There was no way I was not going to get some input. I'm actually fine with the change.

1. I don't feel the pressure of getting FQ which I know is hard.
2. I have said before that on my next solo trip that I was considering POR because I liked the look.
3. I want her to enjoy the MOD experience since she really prefers the idea of Deluxe and really dislikes Values (and she is tagging along on my Jan trip and it is ASMu at the moment), so any excitement about a Mod is great.

She is also excited about FD and wants to be there with me at 6am when I do the call in to try to get it.

Can't wait till Monday so that everything will finally be more concrete and I can finalize my dining/rental car/touring plans.

To figure the price of the free dining discount package on value and moderate rooms, so I can compare before Monday, do I just price a vacation without dining plan for moderate and that would be my price, and for value do the same except add $19 per adult and $4 per child to upgrade the dining plan?

That's pretty much it.

ADRs are not tied to a Resort reservations unless you use the 180day + 10 to make them. I actually made all my ADRs before I had a resort reservation. I did have to pay in full for CRT. Now we have FD and I am afraid to have a CM change the CRT ADR to use our Dining Plan as I have read that if they don't do it correctly you might end up with no ADR! Not going to risk it as the 4 girls in our party have never been and I was at my computer at 6AM 180 days out to make sure I got it.

Pricing out POP vs POR in standard rooms its $141 cheaper to stay at POP and upgrade.

EDITED

If I downgraded from CBR to POP, and paid the upgrade of dining plan.....the difference between the value and mod is only $25.21 savings....not enough incentive to move, in our case
