Free Dining Oct-Dec Is Here!!

Was it "free" dining your AP holder friend got without having to buy a ticket? They always required a 1 or 2 day ticket. DVC AP holders can get the dining plan without having to buy a ticket (normally its part of a room and ticket package) but its not free.

I think you misread the post you quoted. They said they booked with a 30% off room code instead of FD which was better for them since the friend already had an AP. :goodvibes

"CBR new rooms 2013" and click on the first search that comes up.)

Its on the intercot site. It was the 3rd search that come up. The first two were for Hondas? I like it...but I'm confused about the "bench" thing. It looks like some kind of combo until. There were drawers on the side, and a fairly narrow looking bench area with drawers under it. The TV sat on top of it...so what is inside those large cabinet doors under the TV? Its shallow..do you think they'll move the TV from on top and put it behind those doors? I've never seen a piece of furniture like this. I hope the drawer space is adequate. I only find drawer space adequate at DVC 1 bedrooms. Esp. Old Key West.... they've got SO much drawer space :woohoo:

Have you looked at the POR 5 person rooms? The large cabinet doors as you called them is actually a fold down Murphy bed.

oh...you're right!--sorry-- I didn't read it as being the same friend. Yes, she would not have needed tickets for the 30% room discount because its room-only. Sometimes they offer a ticket discount for those getting the room-only discount, but it isn't required..just an additional option. There are sometimes AP room discounts..but you have to be careful, because when I just looked, it had the banner "Annual Pass Offer" at the top...but it was actually the same price as rack rate...so not a deal at all.

I was pretty sure, but don't have exact dates, that the current Sept FD offer came out earlier (ie. maybe a week?) to Canadians than appeared to the general public. Was Canada part of the Europe/South America group? I know it has been said that countries don't get their own seperate discounts. Is it possible that Canada will see this leaked offer ahead of the general public as well?

We are looking to go Dec 12-21 and stay at AofA. (like others on here, we are a family of 5, having done POR the last two times, want something different, but wish the cost difference between the two wasn't so drastic!).

Happy Friday everyone

I have never received a discount in the past so not sure how it all works. Sorry if these questions have already been asked.

I have our room, tickets & dining booked and our dates aren't currently in the FD dates for December so hoping for a RO discount. For the RO discount, is the discount only covered for the dates of the offer or all dates you are booked like it is with the FD offer?

I was able to book before the price increase. If I can use the RO discount will I have to redo my reservation and pay the new prices? Trying to crunch numbers before any announcements come out so I'm prepared.

I will be out of town August 1st and won't be able to call Disney until I return August 12th. Will this be too late to get any offers?

Keeping my fingers crossed for some pixie dust pixiedust:

The last offers came out for Visa holders three days early and that's pretty much it.

Is it August 1st yet? I'm terrible at waiting.
Oh well, 71 days til the 1st Wedding Anniversary trip.

Ok, so it looks like a referb is beginning at CBR and will also include queen beds....finally.

Uhoh, when is the refurb starting?

ETA: Never mind I obviously missed the whole conversation. The pictures look good to me. Guess they are doing it indiscreetly being I didn't see any information about it until now and they have at least one room done.

There are no standard or garden view rooms at POFQ for my dates 10/19 to 10/25. Also there are no standard or preferred at POR. Seems like there will be little availability.

Do you mean none available at all? Or none with the current FD pin?

I'm booked oct 26-nov 3 at POR in a standard room... Just booked it last week so it's not totally full the entire month!

So if I'm going from November 8 until November 11 is there any chance of a discount for us? Will room only discounts be blacked out on those dates as well? Thanks.

There may be hope! Looks like CBR might be an option in the future. On the big resort thread someone posted about someone who was able to "sneak" in and get some pics of a mock up refurb. There is a pic of one of those bench stands that looks identical to those murphy fold-outs at POR. Here's to hoping that there will be more family of 5 options down the road. (I don't think I'm allowed to post a link, so google "CBR new rooms 2013" and click on the first search that comes up.)

Yeah! That would be great!

If the link works...this is the pic http://i1291.photobucket.com/albums/b553/florida995/photo6_zps6aa010eb.jpg

So those double doors open up and a murphy bed comes down over the narrow bench? That sounds interesting. I hope the TV doesn't fall. I also hope there is enough drawer space for a family of 5.

Not enough room for a bed! Not even a twin. And Disney wouldn't take a risk with patrons sleeping below a tv or require them to move it.

Uhoh, when is the refurb starting?

Looks like they were working on Jamaica 44 back at the end if April, so I'm not sure what's up now. Those could have been a couple of model rooms or they could be working full tilt. Information is somewhat quiet on the matter.

My husband actually wants to upgrade to the deluxe, which imo is a waste of time and money on a 5 day trip. This is his second trip, I have been so many times I lost count. But our oldest's boyfriend is 24 and a bottomless pit so idk. It is his and my DD-21's first trip. I feel the mid grade with one or two ts meals out of pocket is best.

Personally, I would just upgrade to the regular DDP rather than deluxe. 1 TS, 1 QS & 1 snack per person per night is a fair amount of food, and you can always keep snacks in your room, buy extra snacks or QS meals, etc. Besides the cost to upgrade to deluxe DDP being pretty steep, if you do 2 TS meals per day, you're not only going to spend a LOT of time in restaurants, it really cuts into your park time as you have to schedule rides, shows, etc around your meal times. You can use a TS credit for a QS meal, but if you're going to do that, why pay the extra $$$ for the deluxe plan? Just my opinion ...

We're booked with FD at CBR presently, but I've read TONS of people switching to this resort....they are defin. overbooking or moving people for a reason....not sure why they'd offer to move to a resort that has no elevators and under 'refurb'.....I've read enough of people switching to this resort, that I may switch FROM it!

lol...that sounds like something I would do.:rotfl2: If I had already been to AoA, I would be booking at All-Star Sports for September. But I have to try out one of those super cute suites!
