Free Dining Oct-Dec Is Here!! Dates Confirmed!!! ~ Part 2

I've been stalking this thread pretty religiously for weeks (thanks for all the great insights BTW!) but haven't really chimed in. My awesome TA was emailing me nonstop this morning with updates on my reservation but was not able to get free dining for me for my Plan B/C/D choices. My phone was buzzing like crazy since 6:30 though so I will say that she did a lot of work for me before I was even awake lol.

We decided to just keep my POFQ reservation and she added the room discount, which saved me around $200. I would love to get Free Dining - I'm new to this but it seems like rooms are really slim for this promotion. Is there any chance that additional rooms will open up as the dust settles? Just curious. THANKS!

Well after my morning craziness... my hubby had all the luck in the world and we just booked online for CSR. We had a reso that we booked back in Feb at POFQ so a change of dining plan and resort, oh well

I will call tomorrow to cancel my old reso... but hey sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do!!!

System is back up (at this moment atleast).. I just called back to ask a question about cancelling a reservation and if the deposit I've already paid could be applied to a new reservation (for anyone wondering, yes it can. Their accounting people transfer what you've paid to your new reservation) and I was talking and he told me the system was back up and he proceeded to check various things.

Hi everyone! I just got a message from my TA, who is the BEST I have ever had, and she said they are experiencing holds/delays/glitches like never before!!! She said places like POR are showing no availability, but it is possible that could be a glitch due overload. Pixie dust and best wishes everyone!!!

My TA is saying the same. She was on hold for over an hour this morning, then she had to go to work (part time TA) and now she's calling again on her lunch break. I'm hoping that all the people that booked double stays this morning will be canceling this afternoon so more rooms will be available! She has another TA in her group who has been on hold for 4 1/2 hours!

Mine has been great too. I am using Small World and she was emailing me with questions and updates from a little after 7 a.m. until she had us booked with Free Dining at Boardwalk around 9:45!

Haven't received official news for my TA yet but MDE shows we are now booked Oct 18-21 at CSR with dining. Would have liked to stay at POR but we can now stay an extra day and upgrade from QS we originally had for less (we had a royal room booked at POR)

Morning craziness for me too. Waited on hold for over 2 hours. I wasn't able to get free dining for my orginal reservation at POR, so changed to CB. Its worth it to get free dining though. It is still a mystery to me though why there were no rooms available at POR on the first day of the promotion, something doesn't seem quite right with that. I had free dining last year in the fall and booked it at POFQ a month after free dining came out with no problem. I don't know whats going on this year, I quess it could be all the pin codes that were sent out that made the difference. I'm still going to keep checking to see if anything opens up at POR.

My TA had no luck with POR or CSR for our dates, but said CB (and AKL) was available. That's after being on hold for almost 3 hours, a system crash, and then walla. Unfortunately my husband is pretty tall and we'd rather shave off a few ADRs and pay OOP and keep our POR reservation. Makes sense. It's only about $150 more OOP doing it that way. Just a bummer. We'll have to check back once the dust settles. She was awesome in keeping me posted in a crazy day where I wouldn't have been able to do it myself. Good luck everyone still trying!

Travel agents are also being put on hold for long periods of time and the ones I know have been working tirelessly for hours trying to get each and every client the best deals possible. They may not have the few minutes right now to update each client if they busy are making travel arrangements for other clients. I'm sure they'll get to their all of their clients as soon as they possibly can with their booking information.

I have my fingers crossed to everyone still waiting! My FIL called right at 7 and got through to someone right away. He was able to get the RO discount (what we wanted) but we had to upgrade from garden view to lagoon view (we're at YC). The most amazing part? He paid for our full reservation (room, tickets, DDP) as a bday present for our twins! They do sooo much for us already I can't believe they are being so generous. I'm seriously in tears over it

Just so you know....the systems all crashed and I think they are starting to get them back on line now...but for at least 30 minutes or more they could do nothing and would tell people to call back.

So glad my free dining for our December 3rd to 10th was done months ago. Not only are my dates not included but I don't have to go though all of this. Thank goodness for free dining pins!!! I had to call Disney directly to get it but it was worth it. Saved our whole group almost $2000 for 3 rooms.

I've been hearing from my TA all morning. She was STILL on hold last time I checked, then she said the system crashed I already have a res. at Pop Oct 19-26, just trying to switch to CBR w/ FD. If I can't get CBR, I'll stay at Pop and hopefully get the FD. And I thought October was one of the slower months!
