Free Dining Oct-Dec Is Here!! Dates Confirmed!!! ~ Part 2

I have a reservation for 3 rooms at POP for 11/30-12/7. I am going to have to change it as 2 in the group now have schedule conflicts. I waited to change to see what happened with FD. I am looking at 12/15-12/21, again 3 rooms at POP. If I can get FD in the morning, will I have to put deposits down again or will they just move over what I have already put down?
Thanks for the response.
Melissa

As long as you have packages booked now, it would just be a modification. If you literally just have the rooms booked, those would be canceled, refunded, and packages would be booked with new $200 deposits for each room.

Just gave my TA my request for upgrade options. I'm thinking it will be CBR and I'll miss out on POR, but who knows. I wanted FQ, but that's out with the exclusion.

I am so hoping I'm not disappointed with CBR. I've read/heard mixed reviews. Going with a positive attitude and not to high expectations.

We stayed at CBR last year and loved it. It is a huge resort though so be ready to walk a little if your far from the pool and main building. The buildings were a little dated and needed to be spruced up but the grounds were beautiful! My DS4 and DD 15 months loved the pool and our pirate room.

A couple of things to toss in the mix...

  • Steve at Military Disney Tips is hearing that there's not a lot of availability in standard rooms for the Armed Forces Salute--that people in some cases are having to upgrade 3 levels (e.g. Club Lagoon View at the the Poly) to get the discounts. So have a plan F in case the deals require a higher-price room than you'd been planning--especially if you've been aiming at a deluxe.

I'm still waiting to hear back from Disney on this Dave. The room type allocation seems quite different this year.

But the seeming non-availability of "cheaper" type deluxe rooms with the Disney Armed Forces Salute is going to make free dining paired with a deluxe garden view much more attractive.

Oh I see the difference....$37 bucks hahahaha

Only kidding.

Actually it's confusing, one line just says family suite with no section name. I'm not sure why the first one doesn't say resort benefits, nor what they even mean.

This is what it defines as Disney Benefits

Disney Resort Benefits

Enjoy special benefits as a Disney Resort Hotel Guest including: Extra Magic Hours – Each day, one of the parks offers extended hours, so you can enjoy select attractions (valid park admission and Resort ID required); Disney’s Magical Express service – Complimentary motor coach transportation for you and your luggage between your hotel and Orlando International Airport; Complimentary parking and transportation throughout Walt Disney World Resort – giving you the flexibility to come and go from the parks as you please (valid park admission required); complimentary Wi-Fi in your room and throughout the Resort; Access to entertaining amenities at Disney Resort hotels, like pools with slides, activity programs and restaurants.

But I thought that applied to all resort guests?

Should have zero effect. You get your tickets Sunday and go to MK on Monday for your ADR...there is no wait other than the standard to get you in. Don't go to PH...it's not that great and pay OOP at the resort for a quick meal and swim time.

I'm guessing she needs her dining credits for her breakfast ADR and those can't be picked up early. She would have to go to the new resort and check in first then go to MK for breakfast.

You're right, it does! They like tricking us with their magical words to make one look more appealing than the other???...:lmao:

Was hoping for POFQ but I think we'll book POR now. I know little about this resort.

I would love a room with the trundle bed. Which section should I recommend for this? Also, we will NOT be taking Disney buses so we'd like a room close to a parking lot and by a pool (quiet pool).

Also, what is the difference between the Mansions and Alligator Bayou?

I'd love some building suggestions to request.

Thanks!!

We are currently booked for POFQ from Oct.29-Nov.6. We have never stayed at any other resort but, we have always had free dining in the past. DD13 and DD11 are extremely upset because we told them that we will be changing to another moderate if POFQ is not included. We will be having a family meeting tonight to decide on our back-up plan so we can let our travel agent know which moderate to switch us to.(We are lucky that our travel agent is awesome and has given us her cell phone # and told us to text her at any time.) Any suggestions on a new moderate? I feel like the kids will be disappointed with whatever decision we make since they had their hearts set on POFQ. We are considering Riverside or CSR. We are sooooo confused and can't make up our minds! Help!!!:confused3

Why is October 3-17 not included? Of course my trip is planned for that time period.

Columbus Day, as well as many schools that have their fall break during that time.

I think the Mansion will only accommodate 4 people as to alligator bayou will sleep 5..I am booked for Alligator Bayou..fingers crossed free dining will be in my future tomorrow.

I wish the Mansions would sleep 5 because they are beautiful!!! If someone else knows this to be different please let us know!!!

It's my understanding that families of five get Alligator Bayou, which is the ones with the trundle beds. Mansion section only sleeps four, in two queen beds. I've heard that if you are less than five, they'll usually put you in Mansions to keep the AB rooms for families with five.

Can you imagine the uproar on a FREE DRINKING offer?

Now do that during the F&W and we would have pandemonium.

I'm in for that! As long as they don't do the cruise ship thing and water it down or fill the glass with ice first!

I ask for my 'rocks' on the side....pour my drink into a few rocks

Okay so I emailed my TA's Boss, hopefully I will get an answer soon. This is what I emailed to her.

I am trying to change my reservation. I have deluxe dining and I only want to do quick Service dining. Then tomorrow free dining is coming out. So I need to change my reservation to room only on November 10, and do my package from the 11-15. Then we free dining is offered I want to up grade to the disney dining plan. I still want to do 6 day tickets. I will have to change resorts since All star movies is not included in the free dining. I will need to switch to pop or one of the other All stars. My first choice would be switching to pop then All star Music, then All star Sports. I feel like if we do not jump on this deal tomorrow I will lose out on saving $400 That is a big savings especially being a single mom. I am just a little worried this will not happen and I wont be able to take advantage of free dining. I am sorry for keep emailing you but I am just worried. I know she is a great agent and she has been great. I just don't want to miss out on this. This is the first time me booking with an agent, I guess im a little of a control freak with the reservation. I just don't want to miss any deals.

So which resort would be best for me to try and get. Which will be the easiest since All star Movies is out! TIA!!

I was under the impression she wasn't moving resorts, just doing a RO for 1 night before pkg starts...maybe I misunderstood...

Thanks for all responses. I should have been more precise! I really do have packages with 3 rooms, thus $600 in deposits. I thought this was the correct answer but did not want any surprises in the morning! I will be up at 6 am Texas time in the whirlwind of calling! :surfweb: I will need to get my plans together. I only have a plan A at this moment. I am putting on a Nat King Cole CD and crunching some numbers to come up with a Plan B and maybe a C. So many decisions! Best of luck to everyone in the morning. AND..........thanks again to everyone for the heads up on discounts and for answering so many questions. It is really helpful to so many and just fun to share excitement for my coming vacation.
