Free Dining Oct-Dec Is Here!! Dates Confirmed!!! ~ Part 2

Well, I broke down and re-booked a FD vacation. :cheer2:

DH and I were supposed to go in September for our 22nd anniversary trip, but we had to replace our central a/c, so cancelled. When I saw the FD dates extended, I couldn't help looking into it- we are economizing a little bit, but we decided we could afford a trip after all!

We had originally booked at POFQ for 3 nights in September with regular DP, 2 day hoppers and MNSSHP tickets. We downsized to Pop from 11/19- 11/22, with 2 day base tickets and QS dining plan. We will be spending about $500 less, but we will still have a wonderful time! It will be our slightly delayed anniversary celebration.

Hey black, maybe the next post should be "Free Dining Oct-Dec Is Here!! Dates Confirmed!!! ~ Part 3 (AN A WHOLE LOT MORE)" because we are going :offtopic: occasionally, probably me more then most others. I think smitch is probably getting sick of answering all of my :offtopic: questions by now. :rotfl2: :lmao:

One of the threads we had going involved a blind date with an imaginary guy named Robert so off topic is standard here lol

Well, either got lost in the shuffle, or nobody likes me enough to answer :-)

(or I missed the answer... not like it's not been busy).

I've checked in late in the past, but was never on the last day of a special deal...

I actually check in 10/2, and asked thus question. The CM told me I could check in as late as 11:00 am on 10/3 to keep reservation and free dining.

I register for ME online and had an email confirmation within minutes after doing so.

For past trips, we have usually gotten our tags about three weeks before we left. We haven't flown in a while, so that may have changed. I did read a few weeks ago that someone going in December had already received her ME tags.

I signed up for ME when I made my initial reservation and than called with my flight info. Is there anything else I need to do? Or will I get my Mickey mail about a month before I leave?

The same is happening to my cancelled reservation. I don't see the details under hotel reservations on MDE but the tickets are still there under the tickets & passes section...should I be worried or is it probably just a system glitch?

I'm not to worried because the refund amount I was told was correct so if the extra tickets don't get removed then that's 3 free 7 day passes for me. :)

That would be Ronald actually...lol

Oh, at around page 240, I'll start a part 3 so everyone will have ample time to subscribe as we close this one down. Has anyone ever shut a thread down before?

We love the lines app! We even pay the yearly fee for years we don't go to Disney. The chat feature make us feel like we are in Disney when we are not. :)

I'm really thinking I'm gonna upgrade. $11.95 is pretty cheap stress relief. :)

I just added ME today and within a few hours I got an email titled "Disney Travel Company Reservation ######## that had the entire breakdown of my reservations, both ME and resort/dining. I would call and ask a CM if they could send you that email

Don't u just yell "LAST CALL. YOU DON'T GOTTA GO HOME BUT YOU CAN'T STAY HERE"?

I don't mind the questions at all! :goodvibes

For those of you who don't already know, I have a MNSSHP guest list thread going. I just spent the last hour and a half updating the list since I have been neglecting it for the last week or so. :crazy2: If you are going to MNSSHP, be sure to check in. Here is the link...

Hey smitch, this is my first time doing MNSSHP. How does it work as far as entry? Do they kick everyone out of the park at some point then only people with passes get admitted back in?

Dunno how I missed that. But I added my date. Looks like a few there that night.

I know you probably have your heart set on POR but CSR has availability for your dates and it's still a great resort, plus it is more centrally located. That was my second choice after POR especially since I try to be at the hotel just to sleep. We did AKL last year with club level so we had a room looking over one of the savannah's and we were almost never at the hotel.

We are family of 5, so anywhere else adds $1000-1500 to our cost which we can't do. Thanks for the suggestion though. I'm gonna keep trying!

People without tickets are promptly herded to the gates by CMs at or slightly before 7pm. People with party tickets can enter as early as 4pm with just their MNSSHP ticket (no regular MYW ticket needed for the day unless you want to enter prior to 4pm).

Our MNSSHP day goes like this:

--Hit a park early in the morning (9ish)
--Eat lunch at that park or back at POP (depending on what we are craving) around noon to 1
-- Get in our costumes and head to the MK bus stop a little before 3pm
--enter MK at 4pm and meet any regular day characters we want to see while in costume, maybe ride a couple of rides (definitely Buzz since we are getting Photopass+)
-- grab a quick bite to eat at Cosmic Rays around 5:15
--hit the restrooms and then get in line for our top priority party character by 6pm. This gets us out of the first line by 7:20 at the latest.

The rest of the night depends on who we want to meet. We usually see part of the villains show and hit a dance party at some point. We watch Hallowishes from a table outside of the Plaza restaurant, and then we head immediately to Frontierland to grab spots for the second parade. Much less crowded for the second parade, expecially back there. We trick or treat whenever we see a station. Even if the ToT lines look long, they move very fast. We stay until the very end, and if it is cool out, we grab hot chocolate to drink while we wait for the bus back to POP. When we get back, we eat some of the candy and finally crash around 2 am. :rotfl:

Yes! Keep trying!
Persistence paid off in our case. I was able to to get a standard POR AB room calling in on Friday. I know what you mean though, I was starting to consider the Cabins with free dining but with FD it would only have saved us $200 over POR + paying for DP. Granted, I know there are more space in the cabinsbut if you are just trying to save money, like us, POR is just the only option. I figure we can do cabins on a later trip. : ) I do hope the rumors of a murphy bed in some of the CBR rooms in a new refurb are true so we have more options next time!
