Free Dining Oct-Dec Is Here!! Dates Confirmed!!! ~ Part 2

So I haven't heard back from my TA yet on exact total saving but I can see in my Disney experience that he changed our reservations from POR to 2 rooms at pop. I had gave him our top 3 choices to work with this morning. I am disappointed that we can get POR it would have saved us another $1300 or so. But still happy we will be getting about $1800 in savings!! And I guess I will appreciate 2 bathrooms in October with 5 of us . So excited for our trip!! 61 days! We will be there 10-2--10-13!!

I made my online reservation around 8:15 and had an email at 8:20.

I got through immediately at 6am and still no email confirmation at 10:47am. I will worry until I see it in writing.

I just don't know what to do, I have paid my trip in full so I dont want to rebook again. It is just so frustrating. The Cm I talked to gave me the number to the Travel Agent Line. I keep trying to call it and it is busy. She said maybe they will let me change my reservation.

Just hypothetically, what's to prevent a family of 5 from booking with just a party of 4, then paying for a ticket themselves from undercover tourist, and paying for meals out of pocket for the extra person? If it was the difference between us going, and not being able to go, I wonder how many families consider this possibility. Especially if the kids are small.

Helping someone to go against Disney policy is not allowed on this forum. The reason they have limits are about fire codes, not to make people pay more money or suffer.

TAs have to call a dedicated number, so their wait times are really long. Some have been on hold for over 3 hours.

wow! so hopefully she is just on hold but I don't see her waiting that long!!

Hubby just called to see if we got free dining yet and I told him no..he proceeded to say if we don't get it then we're cancelling disney and we'll go somewhere that doesn't rip you off His only stipulation with this trip was free dining, so I knew there might be a chance that this trip would be a bust. He's not going to disney for himself...only for our dd. He'd rather be on the beach somewhere relaxing....oh, well, I'm going to start looking at different vacation ideas just incase...

That's why it's best to wait until deals are announced to book anything. Disney doesn't guarantee discounts. Hopefully your TA comes through for you, i'm crossing my fingers!

I am having the issue. My third kid is only 4 and that is what I was thinking to do. Actually, I booked that way at RR since for 5 in a deluxe or Suite is about 2,000 more. I will bring an air mattress. Anyone did this in the past and any feedback?

I would be afraid though that I would be found out and somehow be chastised for squeezing 5 people into a 4 person room. I wonder how many families do this on the DL.

I am working on with two rooms at value with Family and Friend discount instead of the free dining since will be basically the same price of the RR and we will be more comfortable with the extra bathroom. I am currently coordinating with my friend which offered me his discount. If I do the two rooms at value under the free dining plan is about 921 more than with the family and friend discount. So I am crossing fingers while I complete the booking.

Lucky you ...apparently nothing has been done for me yet, because my ressie shows the same so done with Travel agencies!

Sorry . Hope u hear something soon!! This is the 2nd time we have used this agent and he has been wonderful. They aren't all bad....

ITA! Book it yourself, then cancel your reservation with your TA. When your refund comes just pay off the new reservation with that.

Need advise.

I had a res booked that I was hoping to just add the free dining.
I was on hold this AM for 90 minutes and had to go to work.

I ended up going online and booking basically the same res I had but with the free dining option. I have been on hold again now trying to Cancel my original res and again have been on hold for 1 hour 35 minutes so far. I only have about 10 more minutes before I have to go.

So I have 2 res at the exact same time. One with FD , one without.
Am I going to have a problem if I just call when Iget home tonight to cancel????

Hopefully your travel agent will be able to get it for you, if not have you thought about booking yourself and canceling the one with the travel agent. We're staying at CSR as well and I was able to book a room there and it seems like they still have a lot of availability left. Good luck!

Our trip is already booked and paid off through a TA. Plus, when I go online to check availability for CSR is says unavailable
