I am on hold, but figured while I wait (been 20 minutes so far) I would ask you very smart people what you think :)

I made a new reservation online on the 1st, called in that night and cancelled my old reservation. The CM said they couldn't take the money paid to THAT reservation and transfer it over to my new reservation and they would have to refund it. Well, I got a refund.... but the refund is for 700$ and the amount I paid towards my original reservation was 1600$. Anyone have any ideas???

The refunds are credited back just te way in which you made the payments. I cancelled a trip and had made numerous payments and each one was credited separately not in a lump sum. Ie $200, $300, $100 etc

Also if you paid using various cards Visa CC, Vsa Debit, Gift Card each payment is refunded back to the original card

All refunds may not appear at the same time as different banks/methods can take up to 2 billing cycles to show up

Very odd indeed that the $700 showed up as one credit when paid in more than one deposit.

Good luck in getting this issue resolved when you talk to accounting

Stay calm! I just experienced the SAME thing and freaked out!:scared1: I cancelled my original trip last Thursday, actually all 3 families did. 1 family got her entire refund 2 days later on Saturday and I got 1/2 mine on Saturday. Each of us had the trip paid in full. My other 1/2 just hit the bank yesterday. The 3rd family only made the $200 deposit and still nothing. It depends on the bank.

You will get it, but it's based on how WDW finance dept. releases the funds and how your bank accepts it. Example with direct deposit, 2 folks work for the same company. 1 gets it in their account on a Thursday and 1 gets it Friday. That's all on the your bank.

I know it's unbelievable scary when you don't see all your money. Hang tight and keep checking. I'm sure it will be there shortly!:thumbsup2

I also cancelled a trip after rebooking online on 8/1 and my refund of $200 showed up in the account yesterday 8/6 :)

Did anyone have a geek moment and look at my analysis of today's earnings call? I shared some views on future discounts.[/QUOTE]

Where is this located?

But don't forget. There's a difference between September free dining and free dining the rest of the year. September got it due to kids in school and hurricane season. It had nothing to do with economic conditions, but was all about a slow time of year. Those conditions so far haven't changed.

Think about this, the week I'm going, crowd predictions on a range of 1-10 vary between 1 and 2. That's with free dining. What kind of levels would it be without free dining??? Does the level go to zero?

Same is true the first week of October. We have had free dining for years because we would travel in September, so I agree that discount will probably stay in place. It will be interesting to see if Universal can siphon off enough visitors for Disney to offer this incentive further into the Fall in the future. Did I read that Avatarland is delayed?

Based on page views, people really want that free dining. Room only can still be a decent discount however.

my experience is this. We had a trip paid in full, and Thur, booked one with FD then asked all funds to be transferred to the new one. They said no problem. six days later no email showing total paid and MDE only shows $200 deposit. Two different days talking to two different CMs and they show my account shows $2100 and change paid with another $400 due. However, I cannot see any verification of this myself anywhere.

We got fd on 8/1 and it never showed up on my mde either. It does show up on the UK site though. When I signed in and put in ALL my info (address, ress#) it was showing everything.

The Canadian site shows it as well. However when I turn my VPN on & go to US site it's not there. The Canadian site is identical to the old US site. I'm not worried though, I received my email confirmation and they sent a copy through snail mail. :)

Saving it all for Disney and wearing an "happy 40th" button the whole time.

I would have NO problems taking them out at that age. When I took my kids out in 1st and 2nd grade, I took them out for at least a week! Now once they hit middle school, that's where the work load really gets piled on. Enjoy your trip!:goodvibes

We take our kids out. School board has a policy that they must report any more than 3 unexcused absences to a social worker. You are allowed 7 unexcused absences per year( no MD note).

Even if we told the teachers and principal before we went we still got the warning letter about the 7 limit.

So this year we are not bothering to inform anyone. Their teachers never gave them their work ahead of time anyway. They just had to catch up.

We have learned that spending time as a family is much more valuable in life , especially when one considers is only 5 days of missing school. ( 4 actually since we go veterans day week.

You only live once and you never know how long you have in this world with your kids. They will be grown up and gone someday too. Best to live life to the fullest now!

Dang it!!! The other thread was finally shut down.....seems the rum IS gone
