Free dining now available on WDW site :)

I read a really good tip that said not to tell them the night before that it's travel day the next morning. Let them think it's the day after (if that makes sense), that way, they will have a better night's sleep (not too excited) and will be super excited in the morning when you say you are heading off to the airport today - I am definitely going to do this! :lovestruc As we are lucky to be flying from our local airport which is 20 mins away, we will be able to carry this off no problem - as no overnight stays involved at airport hotels :cool1:.

Depends on the outcome you want. I prefer if DD doesn't sleep too long the night before. It makes her more likely to sleep on the flight. That means I can sleep on the flight :rotfl:

However, the year I surprised her, she found out at the airport hotel the night before we flew and she went to sleep around midnight and woke me at 2 am, lol. So it can, admittedly, go either way!

Just booked a second trip - it was sort of not entirely planned but my one true love in life is cheerleading and missing cheerleading worlds at WWoS this past weekend was so hard, so we are going next April to AS Sports for a week so we can be part of it again! Not sure I intended to go to Disney twice in a 4 month period but I'm not complaining!

I'm a bit nervous about booking my hotel/ticket/dining with WDW without the flights. Always booked it as a package deal and I get all nervous at the thought of not doing it this way.

But it may actually work out cheaper. The deal for Sept 2015 at SSR for 5 Adults and 1 child (he will be 3) in a 2 bed villa is looking good as long as we can get flights for around the £500 mark! What do you think my chances are?

Virgin and Travel City Direct are wanting silly money £14500, and £15000!!! so not worth it.
:confused3

I am in the same situation. It is hard to predict what the flight prices might be and to know what dates to book. I have always booked a package going to Florida. I used to always go DIY in Europe but since the ash cloud I haven't. We got stuck in Lanzarote but fortunately we had booked a package for the first time in years and got moved to a really nice hotel for another 6 days. I'm not sure what would happen with accommodation if booked separately.

Yeah I know, its a difficult decision. I am going to get a quote from Thomson and Thomas Cook tomorrow, and then I will make my mind up, scary!!;)

I'm waiting on a couple of quotes. I really would like to avoid indirect flights which does limit options. I've added in the complication of wanting to add in nights at universal to get the express passes. Thomson said they couldn't do that for me. Happy decision making!

How do you get your DD to sleep on a day flight? DD hasn't since she was a toddler! To be fair to her though she is excellent on the plane :)

What a shame about your cruise :( You will have to bank it for another trip! Think I'd have gone for the BC stay too :goodvibes. I know, silly prices for US, but it's still peak school holidays over there :scared1:. I will keep looking - no massive rush to book though. My children know about this trip - every time we have been to DLP we have surprised them but DD1 is so sharp, she worked it out last time and would going to Florida with all the prep etc. Plus, I enjoy talking to them about WDW - there isn't a day goes by when they don't ask about something - even little things. I think I'd miss that if I hadn't told them tbh. I don't regret telling them at all. I read a really good tip that said not to tell them the night before that it's travel day the next morning. Aw I bet they cannot wait!

They'll be so excited on the plane, I doubt they'll sleep! I know I definitely wouldn't have when I was younger.

I know, banking the cruise for another time, maybe one year we'll get to go. It just seems to be a never ending cycle of weddings & christenings at the minute so our annual leave time keeps shrinking! Never mind, it's nice to be able to do both!

We weren't going to a universal trip but with Diagon Alley being scheduled to open we are now looking at flying on the Saturday instead of the Sunday and doing Saturday night at a universal hotel! We've never considered it before but with taxi transfers and getting the express passes it might be worth it to get it done in a day :)
