Does anyone know when they would announce free dining for November 2012 if they are going to offer it. I would really like to go in November next year but I would also like to take advantage of free dining too!

Based on recent years, IF it is offered, you may see in announced in August 2012.

To be honest, there really isn't a pattern to it. In some years they have announced it in early summer. Others late summer, into Oct. even.

The best thing you can do is schedule it when you can, plan to pay for the dining plan and then watch the boards. Hopefully the pixie dust will come your way or you get a PIN code.

Have a great trip!!

Here is the historical data on it

Stay Date/Became Available
9/27/09-12/17/09 package deal ("free dining") for general public 7/27/09, exp 9/26/09
8/15/10-12/21/10 package deal ("free dining") for general public 7/6/10, exp 8/14/10
8/28/11-9/24/11 package deal ("free dining") for general public 5/2/11, exp 8/27/11
10/1/11-12/15/11 package deal ("free dining") for general public (reissued with slightly changed set of dates) 8/24/11, exp 10/29/11

Basically this is what I was able to find. I am waiting to hear about this as well. Banking on the history, it is my plan to arrive the Thursday before Thanksgiving as this has traditionally been the last day you can arrive and still qualify for free dining. This will be my fourth year to do this, so I am hoping it works again!:rolleyes1

Fall 2012 Free Dining dates should be announced next summer. The dates my vary slightly from year to year, but Free Dining has been an enormous money maker for Disney for the past 7 years and I don't see it ending anytime soon. Contrary to what others may think . . . .

Needing pixie dust for free dining in October .we have had free dining in the past in august but now we are planning to go in the fall for mnsshp .

We booked our trip for this past sept in february and the free dining package was being offered.

Hello There

Can anyone explain to me how to get Free Pixie dust for the free dining. I should add we had free dining when we went last yr as well as this year just don't know what the pixie dust is all about.

Thank you

Received an email on Tuesday, May 22nd, announcing free dining for check-in dates in October, November, and December. Offer had a PIN code associated with it. I expect there will definitely be an offer for the general public coming in the near future. I was surprised that the offer came before the ticket price increase expected in June. Offer included the new Art of Animation Hotel with a nightly price only $5 more than Pop Century. Made our reservations for November 28-December 7.

Really hoping for extended free dining end of November/beginning of December. First trip with my own family planned, rather than as a kid. Excited for my second trip ever and my kids first trip. With 11 of us total going, free dining would save us tons. Excited to stay at Art of Animation as well.

My family (3 adults, no kids) booked a trip for the week after Thanksgiving (Sunday - Saturday) on Thursday night. We were hoping free dining would eventually be announced for our vacation period and we could add it on, but we weren't counting on it. However, when we called Disney to make the reservations, the CM told us that our family was going to be rewarded with a free DDP for being such good customers.

I don't know if this means they know they are going to have free dining in November so they are just giving it to everyone now, if they just gave it out Thursday night, if it's only for returning guests, if it was something for every third caller, or what. All I know is we did get it - yay! So may be worth calling and seeing if you'll get the same thing. ;)

Can you tell me where you got the email from that told you this? So I can sign up for the emails :)

Do you have an account on WDW's website? if you do, go in there, create a "fake" vacation for when you want to go, then save it. I don't know if that's what worked for us, but I did that back in February, and they have sent me at least 3 different PIN offers since then, one being the free dining. We are going in December w/ free dining. I know some don't think it's a great savings, but we have 7 kids (only the 1yo will be free, 3 are considered adults), so this will definitely save us some money! It was a much bigger savings for us over the room discount. We're going to AoA, free QS dining for 7 nights, 7 day MYW tickets...all for just around $3900. Not bad for a family of 9.

I would suggest calling and see if you have an offer/PIN attached to your name. We are planning to go the full week after thanksgiving also and I called a couple of weeks ago to inquire. At that time I had a PIN for 30% off a room. That doesn't really help us. Whether we could go or not totally depended on if we got the free dining.
I called back today and to my surprise I had FREE DINING attached to my name! Needless to say, I was thrilled, so I booked right then.
Now working on my ADRs!

I'm thinking this wouldnt work for me since my sister booked the rooms herself and she is a DVC member so our vacation is not part of a package

Does anyone know if the free dining is only associated with "magic your way" packages?

Yes. Resort stay plus tickets are the usual requirement.
