Just an FYI, our friends had package booked for a campsite and were not allowed to add the Visa holders code to their reservation (booked with VISA card). They were told by 2 seperate CM's the computer wouldn't take it for campsites. I told her to try again on Tuesday as maybe it is just a problem with the VISA code.

I believe you can only use it with the cabins and not with the campsites.

I think that it was the same last year when free dining was offered. The cabins were included but the campsites were not. I think that the concern was that some people would book campsites they never plan to occupy just to get the free dining and then book a discounted room at a resort to actually stay in or even stay offsite.

Your friends can send an email to Disney to let them know they're upset (if they are). I did, about the free ticket upgrade in the spring that did not include the campsites.

Campsites are cheaper but not that much less than value resorts. Disney does not provide housekeeping or towels (even at the pool) though. Plus you have to bring your own beds! :)

The only thing I can see being a big problem is that you are allowed up to 10 people on one campsite and each extra adult is only $2/night. Personally, I'd just rather have them limit the number of people per site, and/or charge more for additional people. I don't think most groups are 10 people.
