FREE DINING in Nov. and Dec. 2008!!!

I am waiting on Fed Ex to bring me my Disney Visa-I just switched it from a Chase Freedom and they put a rush on it for me. I am keeping my fingers crossed that there are still pkgs available since I only need to switch my current reservations to this code. We will be staying Dec. 15-20 at Pop so I am hoping for the room discount as well![/QUOTE]

I quickly called after seeing the code this afternoon. We had Pop ressies, but were "forced" :lmao: to upgrade to PORR because there were nothing left at the value resorts. I saved $500 and kept the Fall Discount too! :thumbsup2

I got it, I got it!!! I've been reading all of these posts going around about the codes and it was getting upset at my lack of codes, lol. I was determined to get a discount and today was my lucky day!

As of this morning I didn't even have a Disney Rewards Visa but I had another Chase Visa, so I called them to ask if I could switch it to a Disney Rewards and they did it right there over the phone, even had me pick out my credit card design and everything! I couldn't believe it! So then I called Disney and they said no, I couldn't do it because one of our days was a blackout date. I had my SIL (who is traveling w/ us) call back to see if she got the same answer, and yes she did, but the CM said something like "we'd have to switch some things around to have any chance of making it work." I was like, "WHAT THINGS?" and she hadn't asked. I called back again, got a super nice CM who said she'd try to find a way to make it work, since our first day is blacked out. She ended up re-booking our first night as ROOM ONLY, so we can't get into the parks or whatnot. But we can get our key to the world the next morning at 7 a.m., and our free dining w/ the rest of the MYW package starts at that time. She said we *might* have to switch rooms after that first night, but doubtful. Said to call a week in advance to ask to have the room 'continued'. All in all we made a few sacrifices to make it work--one day less in the parks, had to cancel an ADR, but for the $700 we saved--WELL WORTH IT! We will just do DTD that night or something and hopefully go to the Dinosaur Restaurant if it's open, which isn't on the DP anyway. And since my SIL is traveling with me she got the discount too, and saved another $600.

Hallelujah and thank you Disney!!! :worship: We just really needed some good news like that today. And hopefully my detailed description of how we did it can help somebody else out. If you have a blackout date in the middle I don't think it would work, but with a blackout date on either end of your trip, you can!

How did you book it without a card? I changed my Chase card to a Disney Visa and I was told I had to wait for my card so I could give them the number. I'm on day two and still waiting for my "rushed" card! ARRRGGHHHH!!

How did you book it without a card?

When I called Chase, the rep told me I could use my existing card b/c it was now 'linked' in the system with the forthcoming new card, and she said my existing card would still be good for 60 days. I wasn't real sure if Disney would go for that, but I decided to call and try. But they never had to run my card because my trip was already completely paid for, so instead they issued me a refund. Hence, they never even asked for my card #.

Also, another little tip...if they tell you there's nothing available at your hotel, ask if you can switch to standard/preferred/opposite of what you have. We had to switch to a preferred room but still saved a ton of money. The first CM didn't offer up that info.

Glad to hear it worked out for you!!! :woohoo: Good to see you on the boards. That is so awesome, and thanks for sharing your info with everyone.

i wonder if they are going to offer this to the general public? would be good, but i would also have to split my ressie so then i would have to weigh the difference
