Free Dining in January 2011?

I've noticed on the UK boards and the UK WDW travel co. website that "Free" dining is offered for 2011 (Jan 1 - Feb 17, 2011 as well as select dates in May-June of 2011 and Aug-Nov 2011) - anyone have an educated guess they'd like to pass along as to whether US travelers will have a similar offer for 2011. We're planning a trip around the Disney Marathon in January and we'd certainly love to get in on Free Dining if possible (or a room discount)...

There has never been a US general public free dining offer that included January.

The UK offers can't be used to try and speculate what the US offers might be. UK guests usually spend a lot to get here and stay at least two weeks, usually three. Disney's aware of their different travel patterns and tailors their discount offers accordingly.

Now room discounts, there will likely be some of those available.

Speaking from the UK, as far as I know, and I stand to be corrected, free dining has never been offered at this time here either. January and February are not the best times to travel from here because the odds of lengthy delays due to weather are much higher. Also, since we love the sun (that golden thing in the sky that we see when we go to Florida ) it is not the best time to enjoy the outdoors and pool to the maximum. Add to that ridiculous increases in flight prices this year and notably fewer people are opting to travel at this time. I am just guessing, but this may have something to do with it.

Oh no! Already with the 2011 threads?

There is major panic on the 2010 thread, because the fall promotion hasn't been announced yet. I don't know about adding the stress of 2011 potential promotions on top of the 2010 stress. The board may implode.

It's the hard-core planners - making sure there is never a gap between planning May as well wish you all a happy new year now - by the time 2011 rolls in we will feel like we've already lived through it!
