Free dining: I'm beginning to despair

It says that there is a limited amount. Does anyone think that there will not be enough left for GP? Its my first time going to WDW and im such a worry wort!! :sad1: this is all I think about all day and night!

Does this typically happen every year? They release PINS then release to GP?

Yes, they generally release PINs and then it goes public. There should be plenty of rooms. Keep in mind that you are on a site in which nearly everyone here knows about PINs, so while it looks like so many are getting them, most of the general public receiving the PIN probably doesn't even pay much attention and throws them away. It is.possible that you might not get your first choice of resort, but there should be plenty of availability to go around. :goodvibes

Great! Thank you soo much, that puts my mind at ease :cutie:

for anyone else w/ this worry, my wife talked to a reservations cast member yesterday. his exact words were "don't worry about not having the october pin code in your account, free dining will be released soon".
how soon? that he didn't say, but just assurance that it is coming is good enough for me.
keep your eyes on these boards, they always go crazy when it happens.
 This. Is so what I wanted to hear. I know last year when I booked, I called, and was told to wait a week because something was coming, and sure enough it was FD. I guess now we must be patient......oh boy

Ok, here is my question. If we already booked for the dates offered, but did not book dinning with the package can we still get the free dinning added when and if it is offered??

If you currently have a package (room and tickets) booked, then it will simply be a modification to your current reservation (though, you may have to change hotels/room categories if your current room type is not available for the FD deal). If you are currently booked with a room only reservation, you would have to cancel that booking and book a package requiring a refund of your original deposit and putting down a NEW $200 deposit (room only money cannot be used for a package and vice-versa). Does that make sense?:goodvibes

THANK you!! I will watch for it and see. Do they FD for values?
I have a package (including airfare) so was a bit worried about that.

They do quick service (QSDP) for values, but you can upgrade to DDP by paying the difference. It's not very much, maybe someone else remembers how much?

Can anyone confirm if Disney offers full free dining (including TS) for all resort stays (including Value) or is it just QS for the values with the option to upgrade to TS?

Thanks

That's what the pin offers have been.

I miss the good old days.
The very first free dining offer was DDP at values, including TIP and appetizers!!! That was the cheapest we ever ate. Sigh.
Ah well, I'll take free food no matter how they package it.

The PIN offers are for QSDP at values and regular DDP for mods and deluxes.

I concur. Not only did it include DDP at value resorts with tips and appetizers...it only required a 1 day base ticket.

My apologies if I'm asking a question that's been answered here already, but my head if spinning a bit with all the abbreviations and dates/pins/room vs non room etc.....

SO- we're already booked for a trip in december for room, tickets and dining. If the free dining does become available, will we be able to apply it to our reservation?

As long as your start date falls within the dates available, and you have booked an onsite package (or a room only you can convert to a package), AND your package fits the minimum requirement for nights and tickets (whatever that turns out to be.) There may also be issues with room availability in your chosen resort. If they can't find a room in your chosen resort in the sale, you'll have to have a second choice. :)
