Free dining: I'm beginning to despair

I also don't want to take the chance that my resort of choice will be available at the last minute.

For me, I am going whether FD is released or not so having a room booked is more important than getting FD. I agree it seems silly to book if you truly can't or don't want to take the trip unless you can get FD.

Oh, in our case, we are going either way. I just want to make sure we have a room either way! I just wasn't sure what the common strategy was for those who would like to take advantage of a free dining code. I didn't want to book a room and ruin our chances of free dining. I also don't want to not book a room and ruin our chances of getting the room we want!

For the record, I already have a room booked for our trip and will cancel. I was just basically wondering if Disney will just apply the code to a previously made reservation or if I have to cancel and re-book.

My family and I are going to be in Orlando from Dec 8th to the 16th no matter what. The only thing we are uncertain of is where were are going to be spending our vacation. If FD comes out, then we'll probably do WDW again. However, if FD isn't offer, then it might be a good time to try something new like a Cruise or Universal Studios.

We're taking the wait and see approach.

Same here, we've already booked air too, so we are going either way, but FD sure would make it nice!!

I called today with a few questions about my ressies. I was pretty much told that is is coming out, not when but it is. They also indicated it could be more availablity then available now. Like past Dec 13th. Which is what i am hoping for.

I was hinted the same thing and told to call back the last week of July seeing as the current pin expires on the 28th it would make sense. Of course my birthday is the 29th so hooray what a birthday gift!

Well, that would be nice for me too ~ we are going to be in WDW Aug. 20 - 28th and I'd hate to have to be on the phone on my vacation. I suppose I could do it waiting on a parade.

I called to ask if we have a PIN, and we don't. But when I asked the CM if she thought free dining would be offered to the general public she said "Definitely" but that it's early yet for the offer.

Called today to ask if we had any free dining pins in our name, and of course we did not. But CM was very friendly and said for sure that discounts for late fall will be out in the next 2 weeks. When asked if that offer would be free dining, he responded that nothing is set in stone but he would be very surprised if it was not free dining. Gave us some extra confidence that it is really coming

Very similar to what I was told as well. I called yesterday as well, and the CM I spoke with mentioned that it is looking like the end of July when the current PIN code offering is deadlined. If it doesn't come out by then, I'm not sure if it will. Fingers crossed!!

He said that he checked all of my information and would be sending it off to marketing. When he found out I had a Disney Visa, he commented that I would probably know something even before him.

I was very encouraged. It definitely seemed like a clear sign that an offer would be coming soon and Visa card holders would have advanced notice before the general public.

So if we do get free dining, what do you think will be the first date offered after Thanksgiving? I have seen 11/23 which would be the Friday after, 11/24 which would be Saturday, or do you think it will hold until Sunday 11/25?

That is definitely encouraging. The last two years I was able to book FD a few days before the general public because of that Disney Visa sitting in my dresser drawer. Hopefully this year will be the same....

Hello again my friends, for the second consecutive year I´m bringin the Free Dining offer news for this fall, and the best it´s that only in 10 days it will be out
OK after all the negative comments about the credibility of my previous year announce and after the release in the exact day that I have predicted I hope that all of you are more confident this year.

These are the dates of the new offer that will be released in July 12

9/30 to 10/4

10/19 to 11/1

11/9 to 11/15

11/23 to 11/29

12/10 to 12/13

All resorts will be included except the LM rooms at AOA.-

We have our dates of Nov 10 to 17 we want to stay at AoA but havent booked because if there is FD we are going to stay/go when ever it is that we can take advantage of that.

I too have been so anxious waiting. This does give me hope. My plan was to wait until the Aug 15 experation date of the current room discount offer expired. And if there was nothing new being offered I was just going to book.
