Free Dining Frustration

After weeks of persistent refreshes and calls, I was finally able to upgrade to CBR with free dining this morning. Unfortunately the cast member quoted a price $650 higher than it should be for my stay. Everything was correct as far as nights, standard room, plan, and park tickets but the price she gave me was wrong. I explained this to her but she insisted that her price was correct. Online does not show availability so I wonder if she just mixed things up. I am wondering if I should have booked at the higher price and then sorted out pricing later with another cast member???

She likely wasn't booking you FD, so it wouldn't have done much good.

If it's not showing online, it's unlikely she would have had it on the phone.

That is what I was thinking too but she said it was with FD. this morning the online system was strange because the rooms showed available but when I went further to try to book it showed unavailable. This is why I called. So bummed... AsMu is still calling our name!

She probably put in the code for FD and since it wasn't available it kicked you out of it and she didn't realize.

Did you upgrade your dining plan from counter service to table service when you booked your value resort? We initially booked FD at POP, and upgraded our dining plan to the table service plan. When CBR opened up, I called immediately and ran into the same situation you did. I asked the cast member why the price hike when it was only a standard room. After looking into it, she realized that the upgraded dining plan we had with POP automatically rolled us over into the next higher tier, and was charging us the difference. Don't know if this was a glitch, or something their system is automatically designed to do. She had to go in and remove the deluxe dining plan from our ressies, and everything worked out.

Don't give up if a moderate is what you want. Keep checking the website. Something may very well come open, especially the closer it gets to the deadline for people to pay off their packages.

Holy smokes, CBR rooms are available on my travel dates and we are officially booked this morning!!!! I saved $400 by switching my family of 5 from 2 rooms at ASMu to one room at CBR. Plus, we get the upgraded dining. I am so excited. Thanks everyone for your advice. It pays to be on Disboards and it pays to be up early!!!

I noticed a lot of availability has opened up, even the first week of October which was previously sold out. Disney must be releasing more inventory.
