I am a DVC member. I don't care at all that they are giving away the dining plan and I don't care if they get to sit-down. Advanced reservations are first-come and that is okay with me. I do agree that it stinks that we have to think about where we want to eat 6 months in advance but so what. It is the system. You figure it out, call 6 months before, and your in!
As far as special perks for DVC that takes away from others. I don't know of any that impact any one else. We get some discounts that many others are eligable for. We get nice rooms BUT we did pay for those when we purchased the membership and we pay dues every year. I would love free dining as a perk but I am not angry with others because I cannot take advantage of it too. DVC members are not special. We all love Disney. There are flaws in the dining system but don't feel upset with others as a result!

. They ask if you are on the DINING PLAN. I know because we went last year during free dining--but we PAID for our dining plan. Yep, paid for every penny of it. And the servers always asked us if we were on the dining plan. No one sitting around us would've known if we had gotten it free or not.
. I felt like the biggest fool last year paying for it when so many others got it free.
