FREE dining for 2 year old???

With no ticket, they also get no KTTW card, so it's probably difficult to assign credits to them.
They do get a KTTW card....they will need it for EMHs too.

Yes, if i include them in the ADR I also have to use a TS credit for them, correct?
No.

We were given a free kids meal at Akershus for our 2 year old DD. It was a pleasant surprise.
Any all you can eat meals, dinner shows, character meals let kids under 3 eat for free. At Akershus and CRT they will bring them their own plate (I've heard its ususally buttered noodles, etc. but at CRT breakfast we got to order what he wanted), at family style and buffets they will get their own plates as well.

Akershus is a fixed price, not a la carte restaurant, they'll provide a meal for the child.

Hm, must have changed since 2009 :) When we went, she did not receive a KTTW card and was just waved onto stuff with us. Of course, I haven't traveled with a < 3 year old since then, so I'm likely outdated on this front! (Or, they just didn't give us one and should have, and no one else questioned it...)

(And now I know for next time the question is asked :))

I would book as many buffets/family style places as you can. ohana was great for my kids, i think garden grille, liberty tree tavern and a couple others are family style. plus the character buffets and some others (we love Boma!). also some restaurants, like 50s prime time and whispering canyon (can only go off my own experience, I am sure there are many more) give such HUGE portions that it will be more than you can eat anyway. now we went to Coral Reef and it was absolutely not huge portion sizes, so if it's a concern I would make sure you find out first from here or elsewhere.

at QS it's cheap to buy a single item or kids meal, which I would do OOP for your 3 yr old if you want the extra. I have seen it mentioned that pb can be free at some resorts in the condiment section and you can buy bread for under $1, so that's a good option for sandwiches. we brought granola bars, apples and bananas for snacking and that was a good filler between meals as well.

FWIW, we went with my dd being 20 months and it was fine. we are hoping for free dining again in Feb and she will be almost 3 as well. I might buy 1-2 things OOP but mostly she will share with the rest of the family.

I agree - my kids never got a KTTW card when they were under 3, but that might have changed.

OP - kids under 3 are not charged for anything...park entry, food at buffets, attending dinner shows. If you order anything off the menu that is separate from what you get included in your credits for the DP - then you would be charged for that (for example, a kids meal or a side of mac n cheese or whatever).

after further thought....if I feed my kid of my plate and my son 9 yo gets a kids meal ( which he can finish in a minute flat) I will be left with nothing.........

We are going to be in the same situation next year, our kids will be 9 and 2. My DS(2) is a light eater, but still by the time he eats a little of mine, then my DD eats some of mine too b/c the kids meals are never enough for her... yeah, we're going to have to buy some meals OOP for them I'm sure. We may end up buying DD an adult meal at some places and giving her kid's meal to DS, if the waiter isn't too picky about who eats what. But at buffet and family style places it won't matter.

The servers do not care who eats what food. We sometimes had guests who were not on the DDP and we simply order an entree off the menu. WE normally share desserts so that is what we did.

If you order an entree for your DD you could split it with the little one.
