Free Dining Fall 2015? (and a whole lot more)

I called Chase and then Disney, both said that Disney Visa Debit Card holders do not get the early booking promotion. Is that accurate? I had asked earlier, but just called today. Thanks.

Historically DVC has gotten a pre-release to the offers. Not sure what you mean other than that though.

Does anyone know when southwest will open up November air fare? Jet blue has had theirs open for a while now. JB gets us to Orlando at 745 and SWA lands at 445...so I'm hoping that SWA has some good fares for us!!

The way southwest works is that their earliest sales for any particular dates are the best sales. The price generally goes up slightly with each sale after that. So start looking for sales as soon as the November dates come out. Also remember that you can always change your flight and receive a credit if a lower rate comes out on southwest.

Music and Sports :thumbsup2:thumbsup2
We stayed at Sports last year for the first time and it was nice. We liked the fact that this hotel is much smaller than the other values, so less walking to the pool, food court, and bus stop. You are also the first one on the bus since the All Stars share transportation and the first one off which makes a big difference to me. The only issue I found was their food court was smaller too and it seemed to take a little longer to get your food since there was always lines. Would definitely stay again though.

That's what I did for my Sept flight. I called within minutes if them posting the southwest flights I was able to get six rt tickets, non stop with early bird check in for 105$ each way

I'm seriously considering trying to snag some really cheap flights to avoid the 14 hour drive. Even flights out of Atlanta would cut down our drive time by more than half and I'd get to try out the Magical Express.

14 hours is a long time. I cut off traveling by car at 8 hours lol

What time do they generally post tickets? I have to get mine on the 14th, and I'm aiming on buying them immediately, but I don't recall a time.

Does anyone remember the cost difference per adult per day , to upgrade from quick service to the regular dining plan, if free dining does ever come out? Seems to me it was somewhere around $17 to $18 , but I can't really remember.

I am such a cheapskate, I drive 17 hours, I've looked at flights and even with just two of us it's just too costly to fly. I get 40+ mpg (new VW diesel) and even with staying in a hotel and food it's just cheaper to drive. Plus I like having the backup of having a car at Disney, I know I can get food via delivery services but I just like the convenience of that car.

Southwest usually posts between 6-6:30 am. On the day they posted for Sept flights it was on there site at 6:20 am.

My husband will be checking into a resort a day or two before me. Is it possible to book free dining? I don't mind waiting to use credits, but is it even possible if I am not with him when he checks in?

My daughter and I did this last year. We checked in a few days before my husband and son. I just had them on the reservation the whole time with the same tickets. It gave us a couple extra credits so we used them on some 2 credit meals.

What is the southwest deal that everyone is talking about? Is it for certain airports?

Not a deal, just Southwest in general. Some people are waiting for November flight calendars to come out. Southwest has frequent sales, like almost every Tuesday, but the best time to purchase flights a lot of times is as far out as possible on one of their sales because of the way they run them. The closer it gets the less of a discount they give, generally speaking.

So if the November dates update on May 14 and there is a sale on May 20 for those dates, They can book their flights on that sale. If the price dies happen to go down, Southwest allows you to change your flight to reflect the lower cost and gives you a credit for the difference.

I did not know this!! Thank you so much...I will be watching fares that morning then. I think SW has pretty similar fares as JB, the only diff is that with SA we have to pay that extra boarding fee to be in the A group so we can guarantee seating together and that stinks because it adds another 200.00 to our fare cost. Does anyone else pay for this or just take the risk and hope if the need arises that a stranger will give up their seat so you can sit next to your kids??

I've also never been able to justify the cost of the airfare. It's usually $1000+ for four people which is just too much. Even if we did get a hotel we would be spending like $300-$400 on the drive. I might consider flying if it were $500 or less.

I pay for it if I don't think I'm going to be able to check in right at 24 hours in advance of the flight, like if it's really early or if I think I'll forget on vacation. But the times I haven't gotten it and relied on the 24 hour check in I'm usually in high A to mid B. Still plenty of seats on the plane at that point.

I have a friend who has gotten the Free dining for several years in a row with her Disney Visa Debit card, so in the past you could get it- not saying that it won't change.

Usually it's 7 of us going. Now that my oldest doesn't live here it's still 6 of us. Now though we pay for him to fly out to Ohio a couple times a year and ouch the prices are so high. The gas for our upcoming trip down should be roundtrip $180, hotels should be about $125, and then food will be minimal. Even with the lowest flights of $300 roundtrip it's still way more plus then I am limited on what I can bring. In my car I can bring whatever I want as long as it fits in the car. I'm just not a flier, never have been, probably never will. Oh and I did give my daughter the option of flying, my husband said it would be a nice treat, her response (she's almost 15) was "but driving is part of the fun"...yep this is what happens when you grow up driving cross country with your parents.
