Free Dining Fall 2015? (and a whole lot more)

I think 2012 is the last time free dining was offered in Jan. There are usually Stay, Play, Dine discounts for most of Jan though.

DH, and 4 kids hoping for POR or CBR (my littlest is 2, so it's our last year as a group of 5) for Sept 2-13th. I'm also booking for my mom and her husband at any value resort I can get her with Free Dining :)

I will check here at 7:03 tomorrow (just like I did today :) ) before I call in myself

Last year the Dec dates were 12-23, so they just shrunk the window at both ends.

The shorter dates don't surprise me at all, I am just surprised at the way they shrunk it. I guess if I was a financial guy I'd try to get that time well before Christmas and after Pop Warner week filled up.

If these dates are correct I'll just move my dates to November.

I agree with this request.
If you check it the majority of the people are posting there info roll call on there post so it's really not adding to the number of posts... This thread has blown up because of all of the rumors and speculation and as things drawl closer it's just going to boom even more... I think it's exciting and helps with the wait and "rumors"!!!

Does anyone else think the December dates seem off?

That will mean loads of people will get free dining over Christmas and many over New Years. These are dates they have no problem booking. Looking at historical data the just seem off. I was thinking it would start around the 12th or so.

And this is why I posted how the information received mentioned after December 21 being an exception to the rule of you just having to check in during the dates and getting FD for the duration of your stay. The wording made it sound like that may NOT be the case in December, and that the FD would only go through December 21, no matter what your December check in date is. At least that's how I interpreted the rules listed, I'm curious to other ideas.

I am trying to price different things out on the website in anticipation of free dining and can't remember if the prices on the Disney World site for the packages include tax. Do they?

Just my own thinking, so don't take it as fact, but I highly doubt they would just end it on the 21st if your stay runs past that date. I don't think the system can even book that way.

Thanks, I wanted to know someone else's opinion on it! :) I was wondering how they could do that as well, it just seemed so complicated. I still don't understand the wording about the rule being different after the 21st? The wording was a little awkward in translation, so I wasn't sure what that could mean.

Does anyone know if there is usually free dining offered in January? I know it wouldn't be with this batch of deals but just curious if they do offer it in January (including a pin code/UOC).
Usually a stay play and dine in January. Not sure about offer/pin codes though. Resorts prices usually are lower too, especially towards and into February.

i have a res at Pop 12/14 through 12/20 paid in full. If the dates rumored are correct I would need to do a split stay. I understand we will have to check out and could possibly have to move rooms, it would be worth it to get free dining. My question is the first day, would it need to be reservation only? Could we pay for dining plan if we wanted to? If we did would I have the 14th and 15th to use those credits? Just weighing my options, we always get the dining plan and normally eat at a character meal or 'Ohana the first night, one of our most expensive meals.

I am confused by it too! My friend who translated it for me even called her husband who is originally from South America to see what he thought. He said that it is very vague but it does indeed translate that there is a possibility that it would not apply to some nights after Dec. 21st. She said that its translation is something like a slight chance, so not a guaranteed statement.

It really does not make sense to me with what I have heard about free dining and I'm hoping that it is some sort of mistake but it does make me wonder why they would state that. I just don't see why they would offer it for a check-in date of Dec. 21st and then only have it apply for one or two nights. It doesn't make any sense at all! I have to agree with Smitch's logic even though the translation appears to be correct.

I have a ressie for

11/20-11/30 CR garden wing standard view

they do not have the same room type left for the 19th. I would have to move to the more expensive garden view. Which is actually a great deal more at over $1200.

pass the cheese for my whine

I kind of have a hunch that one of the ways Disney is trying to slowly ween people off Free Dining is by dramatically reducing the number of standard rooms available for the promotion. As our plans changed around last year, we had public FD at CBR, then UOC FD at POR, then UOC FD at POFQ. We booked all these as soon as they were available to us, and checked back many times, and we never once saw any standard rooms available. Even our Bounceback for this year at POFQ didn't have an option for booking a standard room. I'll be curious to know if anyone is able to get FD in standard rooms this year...
